Cisco Live 2025 - San Diego

Hi everyone ,

I'm super early , but anyone attending Cisco Live in San Diego this year ?

This will be my first time in San Diego. Can't wait see that city !

I should be there. San Diego is nice and everything is located downtown near/on the waterfront so very easy to get around. If you have time before or after do try and explore a bit further. The Zoo and Wild Animal park are quite good, and there are various other things easy to get to in the area.

I have never been. Is it worth getting a rental car? If not then what is the best form of transportation? When do daily activities usually stop? I would rather go do stuff at night

If you want to explore outside of downtown the weekend before or after I'd say yes, but not for the actual convention, many of the hotels are very walkable. They will also almost certainly have shuttle buses available for the further ones.

I'm "young" and I have looked at the nightlife in San Diego and it doesn't look too exciting. I will dig deeper

I'd be hard pressed to get my company to fly me halfway across the globe for a conference.

You didn't book your hotel with Cisco ?

Nope. I'm staying across the street from the conference at a hotel that they don't use.

I've sometimes done this in Vegas because the prices can be similar and I can get access to benefits I wouldn't otherwise. You just have to be willing to be a little further away, but I've been checking in San Diego and that is mostly not the case. Of course SD has a much smaller number of hotel rooms.

I was starting to talk to my director about this last week. If all goes well I have plans on going the year. Maybe if we get started early we can setup that forums group picture this year.
