Adding an AP and creating IPaddresing for SSID

Hi there,

Can an AP just be connected to broadband directly..SO essentially just plugging in APs directly into the hub that the ISP provided? Will these directly connect then to the ashboard? Also, can the ip/subnet ranges then be configured on the dashboard for these AP's. Basically, Ive no MX or Switches and want to configure the APs SSID's and there networks.

ANy help much appreciated..bit of a noob here

You can, but remember that your AP has to receive an IP to work.

As for the AP being a DHCP one, you can configure the IP assignment for NAT.

See the documentation.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Yes, the MR can be plugged directly into a non-Meraki device. If you go this route, you will most likely need to purchase a PoE Injector.
