ios/ipados updates without user interaction

Is it possible to push ios/ipados updates and force them to install with no user interaction required? from what I've read it sounds like this is an apple limitation especially if the device has a passcode which is required to be entered prior to installing an update. 

I have a friend running JAMF and they sent me a screenshot where it looks like JAMF is able to push & install the update without user interaction assuming it's a supervised device.

No this isn't possible anymore due to limitations that Apple have made. iOS devices will not make any changes i.e. settings or app's while the device is locked.

This is a real pain in education environments where you try to load app's onto devices before they are required.
