No iOS 26 support - no notification either

I recently tried to enroll 2 new phones into our Meraki MDM last week. Both devices (iphone 15) were pulled out of the box, updated to ios 26 , reset the device, restored the phones from the cloud,  then tried to enroll them into our Meraki MDM. I kept getting failed enrollment so I reached out to Meraki support. After a couple days they responded saying it a known issue and they have no ETA on fix...

I even looked on their support site before doing this to make sure it would work, but didn't see anything saying it wouldn't.  I know sometimes Meraki MDM doesn't support the new ios release's right away, but I figured this was safe since they didnt have anything saying it didn't.

This is super frustrating and just unacceptable. Does Meraki MDM just not have enough support anymore? I just spent thousands on a renewal for our company and Im regretting this decision ..

Here to help

Thank you, John, for posting this—I was just about to make a post about it as well.

We’re experiencing the same issue with iOS 26 on both an iPhone 13 and a new iPad Air.

On the iPhone I was still able to downgrade, but for the iPad I was too late.

We’re hoping for a solution soon. At the moment we’re still on a trial license, but we’ll need to make a decision in the near future about whether to continue with Meraki and purchase licenses.

Owch this is a painful problem. While I am not excusing iOS26 not being supported I would recommend that you get a spare device and sign up to Apple's BETA programs, this allows you to test operating systems before rolling out to production.

I actually had a spare device in the beta ios26 many weeks ago. It upgraded just fine while enrolled in Meraki MDM while having ios 18.  So it seems upgrades are fine right now.

Its just if a device has ios26 as a fresh start/ complete erase when it has issues- which I didn't try out until late last week.... Again some kind of notification/notice from Meraki would of been great. I checked their site and didnt see anything, so I assumed I was good to go.

Im just wondering if Mearki MDM isn't popular enough and possibility going to stop getting support. If so, I need to start looking for a new MDM.

Meraki support / Engineering are aware of this issue. Cannot share anything (as I don't have visibility), but it's got the attention it needs

Hi everyone, new here and running into the same issue.

I’m working with a client who uses Apple Business Manager in combination with Verizon’s Mobile Device Enrollment Program to automatically enroll devices into Meraki MDM. Since Monday, he’s been trying to enroll a brand-new iPhone 17 running iOS 26, but nothing seems to work.

He’s factory-reset the device, attempted manual enrollment using username/password, and even tried restoring from iCloud—but enrollment consistently fails. Interestingly, he was able to successfully onboard an iPad running iOS 18 earlier, so this seems specific to iOS 26.

We’ve opened a support ticket with Meraki but haven’t received a response yet. At this point, I’m trying to gather any confirmation or insight into whether iOS 26 enrollment is currently supported or broken.

If anyone has more information or workarounds, it would be greatly appreciated!Meraki MDM Enrollment Issue.jpg

New here

I'm running into a similar issue. Preface: Our devices are enrolled in ABM by our vendor just need settings assigned in Meraki.  I have an older device that was upgraded to iOS 26 then wiped to prep for a new user and we get to the enrollment screen right after activation and it is asking for a username and password to be added to our Meraki Dashboard.  I've tried dashboard creds with no success.  Is anyone seeing that?

Username and password prompts are governed by this setting:

Systems manager > General > End user authentication > authentication

Untick this and you won't be prompted

So looks like Meraki has a temporary fix... its a bit of a pain and time consuming. Ill have to reach out to my employees letting them know I need to reset their new phones I was getting ready for them and get their 2 step codes again (ugh):

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Systems Manager > ADE (utilizing the OLD view at the top-right) > Select the iOS 26 device(s) in question >  and click Remove Settings > Upon page refresh, these devices should be in an EMPTY state.
  2. Factory reset the iPad device - by one of the following options:
    1. Via macOS Apple Configurator > Right-Click > Advanced > Erase all Content & Settings.
    2. Recovery Mode (DFU Mode) Reset while plugged into a Windows PC (Apple Devices App or iTunes) or macOS (Apple Configurator or Finder App):
  3. Navigate through setup assistant as normal (this is expected to NOT prompt for device management at this stage.)
  4. Visit enroll.meraki.com, enter the network id (SM > Add Devices > iOS) or enrollments string
    • NOTE, you will be prompt to login with an SM > Owner account if enrollment auth is enabled.
  5. Download the enrollment profile, visit Settings app to complete profile installation (left-hand column should display a 'Profile Downloaded' option > Click Install.)
  6. At this point, the device should appear in dashboard as an unmanaged iOS device (please do not delete the device prior to next steps from the SM > Devices list.)
  7. Visit SM > ADE and re-assign the desired ADE profile (issue a full sync or partial sync to confirm the device shows an 'Assigned' status.)
  8. Factory reset the device via Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings
  9. This time the device should show a proper ADE enrollment during setup assistant, and will function as intended.
