We're trying to distribute and update Slack for macOS purchased using VPP using Meraki after using Munki for years. However our machines are managed in such a way that Slack launches on login—to encourage people to always have it up and running. However the app is not updating to the latest version, and I'm assuming it's due to the fact that Slack is always running.
Is there a way for Meraki to prompt the user to quit the app so that the update can install? Or is there some other method to get the app updated? I'd like to keep Slack auto launching if possible since users have become so accustomed to that behavior.
