OID Snmp temperature or device uptime on the Meraki MX64 or MX64W

hello, I want to ask, does anyone know the OID Snmp temperature or device uptime on the Meraki MX64 or MX64W for monitoring cacti?

Hi  duwijakarta21,

(1) At the moment, switching and wireless support device uptime info which is also visible on the Dashboard - https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Device_Uptime

(2) - Meraki devices support the majority of OIDs located within the subset of the following MIBs:

  • snmpwalk -v2c -Ob -c <string> <device-ip>

    • sysORUpTime 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.4 - could you test the following
    • ifLastChange 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.9 - could you test the following

(3) Via different API calls - https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api-v1/get-organization-devices-availabilities-change-history

(4) Cisco Meraki Add-on for Splunk - https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/5580

(5) At the moment this is not an available feature on the Dashboard. We take our customer feedback seriously and would encourage you to submit a feature request.

You can make a feature request by going to the bottom right-hand corner of any dashboard window and send the request through the "Give A Feedback" button.

the result is only like this?
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.4.1 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.4.2 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.4.3 = Timeticks: (2) 0:00:00.02

the above results cannot be interpreted that the device has been active for some time.

due to the limitations of the oid from meraki, so for uptime monitoring only from the dashboard, it cannot be integrated with other monitoring such as cacti for example.

Time to get rid of Cacti and get a proper monitoring system 😉

The MIBs supported by MX devices are extremely limited, as @duwijakarta21 has said, they only support  MIB2 and Interface MIBs. You can use SNMP for general device up/down, interface up/down, and traffic in/out on an interface, but that's about it. Regarding temp - that's certainly not in SNMP, but I'm also not sure it's in the dashboard API either? I quick search online suggests that data isn't available from the networking devices.
