I contacted Cisco Meraki Support regarding a licensing issue that was causing an alert on my network.
Root Cause
The issue occurred because I added two licences in quick succession:
First licence: a renewal bundle for four devices (MS120-8FP, MS210-24, MX68CW, MR Enterprise).
Second licence: a single-device licence for an MS120-8LP.
Instead of being added as a co-termination renewal, the second licence was processed as a new addition to the organisation. This created an imbalance in the co-termination calculation, which caused the alert and incorrect licence expiry dates.
In the Meraki change logs dated Aug 24, 2025 at 07:20, the dashboard shows:
License unclaimed
Invalidated Z2A4-XXXXX-XXXX
Generated Z2Q9-XXXXX-XXXX
The actual licence keys have been blanked out for security purposes.
Solution (as advised by Cisco Meraki Support)
Meraki Support guided me through the resolution:
Identified the misapplied licence in the dashboard.
Re-applied the single-device licence as a renewal, not a net-new addition.
Verified the corrected co-term date in the Licensing page.
Confirmed that all devices are now covered under a single co-termination schedule.
Outcome
The alert has been cleared.
Licence dates are now aligned correctly.
No device downtime or feature loss occurred.
