Yeh

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

I saw this feature come into EA also. Awesome feature and something that has been needed for a long time.

We enabled it from EA and saw it only supports switching, wireless and SD-WAN. There is no mention of cameras or sensors in the RBAC options. While also using RBAC role's, it doesn't allow us to give assurance tab either. It'd be great to incorporate cameras, sensors and assurance in the RBAC options.

Furthermore, in future iterations of the feature, it'd be great to give certain access within a menu i.e. swtiching... For example, i.e. switch ports, stack's, routing but not ACL's. Giving more granular access could be handy in larger companies that have staff that just manage switch port config as I know the switch port tag RW feature is only available in the old view.

Cheers

Hi  @Katia @MiriamK ,

Just wondering if there are any updates or roadmap items planned around expanding RBAC further in Meraki?

We recently enabled RBAC from Early Access and it’s a fantastic improvement, something that has been needed for a long time.

Currently RBAC roles allow scoping for Switching, Wireless and SD-WAN, but we noticed several key areas are still missing such as:

  • Cameras

  • Sensors

  • Assurance

  • Overview

  • Network-wide settings

In larger environments (like ours), being able to delegate access to these areas would be extremely helpful.

This would allow organisations to safely delegate tasks without granting site wide privileges.

Are there any plans in the pipeline to expand RBAC to cover these additional product areas?

Cheers,
Hayden
