Mixing Meraki Subscription licenses in an org

Hi, can I mix enterprise and advanced licenses in Meraki organisations with subscription licensing?
For example, having an MX67 with an enterprise license in one network and an MX67 with a SEC license in another network in the same organisation? TIA

Hi @WesleyR

I’ve always stuck with this quote from Meraki’s licensing documentation:

Can I have an MX with Advanced Security and an MX with Enterprise in a single organization?

No. An organization must consist of only one type of license: Secure SD-WAN Plus, Advanced Security, or Enterprise (MX).

I don’t see anything mentioned in their MX subscription licensing documentation that’s states otherwise

That has changed over time. You can have per device SDW licenses in co-term. Works like per network Insight licensing does/did. https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Licensing/Meraki_MX_Security_and_SD-WAN_Lice...

Subscriptions are bound at the Network level instead of Org level. So you can mix licenses based on your needs. Doc https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Licensing/Subscription_-_Licensing_Overview#...

And a screenshot example of a mixed MX license Org

Can we clarify this.

With Co-Term, you can only mix SD-WAN+ (note the plus) with another licence type such as Enterprise or Advanced.

You can not mix MX Enterprise and Advanced.

Correct?

I agree that with subscription licencing you can mix and match as desired, but subscription licencing only has two tiers, Essentials and Advantage.

Correct?

The co-term per network license is only for SDW mixed with ADV SEC Networks in an Org. I was pointing out that licensing mixing is supported in co-term to address the comment about an Org can only be a single MX license tier.

With subscriptions MX has Essentials and Advantage tiers. And you assign these at the Network level so you can run a mix which addresses the original question.
