That was the ticket! The read only admin was not an admin on the SM networks, only on the SD-WAN networks. After adding the appropriate network tags to the admin user, the API call now returns SM networks. Thank you!

I wonder if this could potentially be related to API key permissions? I am a SAML org admin, but the key I am using is that of an org read user. Also if it helps I am using the Python SDK, calling: mdm_network = dashboard.organizations.getOrganizationNetworks(meraki_org['id'])

Hello! I'm having trouble running Get Organization Networks to return SM Network IDs. I can call Get Organization Networks just fine, but all SM networks are omitted. Is there a different API endpoint I should be using that will return SM network IDs? Thanks!

So to be clear....it's ignoring the DHCP hostname for some reason and there is no way to make it see that hostname, even though it does for other clients? I want to make sure we are on the same page here, ha. Thanks!

Normally I would be fine with that however this is affecting most of our 150-ish networks with multiple clients per network, and it is confusing to our help desk who is used to looking for hostnames. If this truly would be a pain to fix, then I am fine leaving it, but I wanted to post and make sure of that first. Thank you!

Thanks for the info. Could you possibly help me understand that hostname process a bit better? I have a DHCP hostname set, NetBIOS is off, Bonjour is not installed, and I have not overridden with a user specified name in the dashboard. Does this mean that the DHCP hostname is somehow not being seen by Meraki so it is falling back to MAC? I guess this is where I am stuck at.

Just as the title shows! Some of our VLANS and devices are not showing hostnames, only MAC addresses, for clients. One example of this is with a virtualized Windows server on Hyper-V. The server has a DNS hostname, NetBIOS is off, and Bonjour is not installed. However, Meraki simply shows the client's MAC in the Name field. I found this Reddit thread but it was not a ton of help. Please keep in mind I am not a network engineer so I may not have all the answers and knowledge that you may ask for, but I do have full access to the machines in question & read-only Dashboard access. Thanks! Edit to add: This is affecting networks with MX-85s and MX-100s both, if that matters.

I've noticed that I need to wait 5+ minutes between enrolling new Android phones in SM. If I don't wait until one device is fully enrolled & booted to the home screen, I can't enroll other phones. Failing to wait at least a few minutes after this causes any other active device enrollments to mess up. Essentially, I can have MANY phones enroll into one entry in SM. The devices all report with one device's SN, and any changes to the one reporting entry affect all devices. I'm not really sure how better to explain this issue. Just curious if anyone else has ran into this or has suggestions besides waiting - it's kinda annoying to take 60+ minutes to enroll 10 phones, just so they don't report in as each other. Thanks!
