Hi Team, There is a new firmware released MR 29.6.1 and noticed something scary "In high capacity wireless networks APs may experience instability when the “Client Balancing” or "Band Steering". 1. Hi Team, I am designing a network with 2 x MX450(Warmspare) 2 x MS425 (Stack) some MS250 and APs The question is where I should run DHCP, I have three options 1. Create all VLAN interfaces in MX and run DHCP on MX and leave MS425 as the L2 switch. 2. Enable L3 and create VLAN interface in MS425 and run DHCP in MS425. 3. Enable L3 and create VLAN interfaces in MS425 but relay DHCP to MX. Any idea which option is the best and why?

Hi Guys, I have a question about the best practice around not using VLAN 1. I have VLAN 1 untagged in all trunks between MX and switches with the following. * Do not have any devices. * Don't have any DHCP configured. * Don't have any VLAN interface created. * VLAN 1 is not spanning anywhere except in these trunk ports between MX and switches * Don't have any management traffic (Have separate VLAN for that) * None of the edge ports contain VLAN 1 I have run packet capture with this design then I run another one using VLAN 5 same scenario, since the untagged VLAN is untagged I couldn't see any difference from VLAN 1 to VLAN 5. Should I worry about anything related to security here? , Let me know if I am missing anything.

Hi Guys, I faced an issue when one of our engineers set the DNS as 1.1.1.3 in DHCP, the Meraki devices received that DNS lost connectivity with the dashboard, once the change reverted it regain the connectivity. I tried to "nslookup" dashboard.meraki.com, api.meraki.com and config.meraki.com with both 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.3, seems to be both DNS servers are resolving the DNS. What could go wrong here?

Thanks @Brash, ISP side is sorted already and currently working. True that I will never be using 40GB fully in near future ;-). Just designing it for the future so no need to be re-designed any time soon plus I can expand as much as I want. Any other things need to be considered as per your expertise.

Hi Team,
I am trying to design a network inspired by Campus Network Model as below. Things I wish to configure is
1. Each MX will have 2 different ISP and configured load-balancing.
2. Each MX will have two downlinks to the core switches and I believe one link will be blocked by STP (keeping it as a failover).
3. MS425 as core switch and stacked.
4. MS425 will act as a router for clients.
5. MS425 configured as a DHCP server.
3. Default route configured to MX for Internet traffic.
4. All edge switches stacked and uplinks are configured with LACP for higher speed.
Any problems I will be running towards with this model? also let me know how I can make this more Rigid.

Thanks, @cmr , I am planning to get 1 Gig from 2 ISP's and load balance, and warm spare with MX100. if I stack all then as an uplink I would only get 1GB right from MX right and there is no way to get LACP between MX and MS for more bandwidth. So if I created a switch with the lowest priority in the above design then I should be fine right?

Thanks, Karsteni for your reply, it seems to be interesting. Can I get a more explanation about it, definitely interested to study it and implement. A few questions I have is 1. if I design that way then each client connecting to each MX will be a different VLAN right 2. What if I disable the spanning tree in the uplink to MX and BPDU guard on other ports, I don't require any switch to switch connection.

I wish to create a topology that is similar to the below diagram, main use of this network will be the maximum utilization of internet traffic with a maximum of 200 devices. I know the MX 84 currently has a limitation of throughput and it will be replaced with a high-end version later. So topology looks like this Six MS250 series switches are connected with MX via cat6. All uplinks from MS are configured as a trunk and allow all VLAN. BPDU Guard is enabled in access ports. anything I need to be worried about apart from STP and the BPDU guard is enough to protect any unwanted topology changes. Let me know your comments and suggestion.
