The strength under status in the dashboard under Cellular Gateway? I'm aware of that but this customer was stating the NetCloud interface will recommend placement and cell tower to choose from, does Meraki have an equivalent to that?

Hello, I recently had a customer ask if the MG had the ability to show via the Meraki dashboard the best placement for the MG because the CradlePoint cellular gateway could suggest the best cell tower and placement i.e. north, south, etc. via its Netcloud interface. Would the MDM + MG do the same, or I am totally off base?

Hello, I have a customer within a Meraki Wireless environment and they are stating the clients are roaming when connected to the APs OR being kicked off when connected to the APs, what would cause that? Would that be something in the configuration? thanks EN

Thanks for the response, so most likely the USB on the MX will NOT handle a 5G fixed wireless device BUT the MX could have a non-Meraki 5G fixed wireless device in the WAN1 port right?

Hello, I know we now have the 5G MGs available now, but if a customer prefers to use a non-Meraki product for a 5G cellular gateway i.e. CradlePoint or NetGear can they connect that to the MX via the USB port only or choose WAN port as well?

Okay, to ensure I understand. Can the business owner do a redirect URL via Splash Page and that URL could be the sites you mentioned above or it could be their own custom website and once customer fills out that infornaton like email, phone # and name it would be captured right?

Ah, so this would be API related with those 3rd parties? OR could the business do a redirect URL via the Splash Page and have the customer's fill in their contact information there and then have access to WiFi?

Hello, I have a SMB business that is seeking a WiFi soluton for 8-10 sites and they're seeking to capture the customer's email information. I believe this can be done via the Splash Page when choosing sponsored guest login, but I would like confirmatoin. And in addition, where would those emails be located so the business owner can review those email addresses from their customers? thanks! EN

Question team, A customer is using a Sonic Wall that is provided by their payment vendor, and the POS machine can be the ONLY device behind it. If the customer was to use an MX for SDWAN /FW/threat protection features for all their other devices could it be turned off for a specific port for the Sonic Wall?

Hello, I have a customer that has a 48-port MS switch and is looking to connect it to their MX appliance. What is the preferred way to connect the MX to the MS, would it be via the SPF port or the RJ45 port? Is there a best practice of choosing one over the other or just a preference? thanks,

Hello, Could the MG41 be used as primary connectivity for VOIP if the customer has a non-Meraki POE switch and non-Meraki firewall? I believe it can but I wanted to confirm.

Hello, If a customer wants a static IP on their SIM. It was mentioned to me that it was an “APN Setting” change, which is specifically mentioned in the Meraki documentation but it specifically only calls out the MG41, not the MG21. It seems to imply that you cannot change the APN setting on the MG21? Please advise because not all customers want static ip.

So does that mean it can be set up in a way that it does not burst? USE Case: Customer – with sub-tenants - has a 100 Mbps ISP circuit. Does not want one tenant to “hog-up” bandwidth at the detriment of others They have 5 VLANs – 2 have a CIR of 30 Mbps 4 have a CIR = 15 Mbps ….but allow each VLAN to burst to full speed if bandwidth is not be used by other CIR commitments. For example, if only one VLAN is accessing the Internet (at any one give time) then that VLAN has full access to the 100 Mbps circuit. However, if all VLANS are accessing the Internet (at any one give time), there is a “rate-limiting” feature.

Can VLANs on a Meraki be traffic shaped? SD-WAN can do application traffic shaping. You can rate limit on SSID You can rate limit bandwidth on a Per-client basis. Can you limit VPN traffic?
