Maybe Meraki will surprise me with working port profiles next Christmas. Sanata can you hear me....🎅

I think, that this has still not been corrected in the release notes.

I don't know and Meraki doesn't know as well (I suppose that this has not been fixed): https://community.meraki.com/t5/Switching/MS-16-7-1-Changelog-questions/m-p/223084

Yes, when updating or I think when rebooting the devices to be more specific. But on a daily basis I'm not having any issues, so what you are experiencing is very weird. Have you contacted support? Can you share all settings from the ports on both sides here? Maybe there is something that you are just missing?

Oh, and if you're ever in need of keys for Windows 10 or 11, I recently came across Digital Chill Mart. Their prices seem pretty reasonable, and it might be worth checking out. Here's the link: https://digitalchillmart.com/product/windows-11-pro-32-64-bit/ Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with.

You can say this one out loud, it's been around for way too long.

In my opinion, like all vendors your mileage may vary. I've had some excellent Meraki support calls/cases and I've had some average ones. But that's is the same with every other vendor I've dealt with over the years. There's many factors that can impact your support experience on any given day.

Thought that it would be worth to add this one here since the changelog seems to have some mistakes: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Switching/MS-16-7-1-Changelog-questions/m-p/222916

Meraki switches typically retain event logs even after a reboot. These logs are crucial for troubleshooting and maintaining network security. However, the duration logs are stored may depend on the switch model and configuration settings

I can change DHCP from switch to MX, but this is not the solution. Will try this on weekend

Oh I think I mistook the 450 for the 425 sorry! But because Meraki uses standard QSFP DACs I think it should work. It won't be supported though.

Ok, they're both capable of 10Gbps. Sounds like it could be an issue with the fiber then. I would do a loop back test on both sides to rule out the switches and SFP's

No worries! I hoped you just know something more than in then notes, too bad 😅

Not only that , but the default behavior for templates and standalone networks is different. That means you have to check every single network and templates to make sure that it is disabled. This used to be a backend option 🙂

You are right, but then it would mean that they have, all of the sudden, so much to do, that they can't respond to pings. @AxL1971, think you need to double check your wiring, configs and maybe open a support case if it doesn't make sense, what firmware are you on? BTW - I'm having trouble with ping responses on MS425 since upgrading to MS15.x. At full hours (like 8:00, 13:00, 19:00) the response times to pings would rise up to 1000ms for no reason, last maybe a minute and then return back to normal. Support is on it, since over a month and they don't see anything weird in the network and are unable to replicate in their lab, despite us seeing this in multiple locations. Never had this weird thing in previous versions.

Right, my bad, when the switch lost connectivity, you will have no logs in the dashboard! Your STP config looks OK so I would check the cabling, maybe swap SFPs, patchcords to see if the issue moves along with them.

First of all, it really sounds like a nightmare, I really feel bad for you! You can read over here my lengthy complaint and story about the upgrade from MS14 to MS15: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Switching/Has-anyone-had-issues-with-Stacks-and-LACP-after-going-from-14/m-p/196404/highlight/true#M13683 There we also had issues with switches being unable to upgrade because the ports were blocked. But I handled that by disabling all redundant connections (which in my case was simply disabling almost all ports on one of core switches, thanks to a rather clean cable setup), then everything regained connectivity and upgraded. Your comment below got me thinking and I will keep that in my mind during next upgrades, since I have the Loop Guard set on all ports pointing towards the core switches (stp root), and maybe that was the reason for my issues. Thanks! @SwitchedAtBirth wrote: We also did some research and found that some folks were complaining about STP Loop Guard can be known to cause issues. We found this enabled on 2 uplinks, disabled and finally, all was well.

Problem Description: Wierd L2 BUM traffic Behaviour SW - MS 15.21.1 HW - MS250-24P Topology : Interface 3 | | L2 Vlan 100 Interface 1 -----------Switch MS 250----------- Interface 2 | | Interface 4 All ports are part of VLAN 100(access port), Nothing else is configured on the switch like storm control. On all ports, the Servers are connected which can capture the packets. This is my lab device hence there is no production traffic or any other traffic load on the switch. Summary : When we send broadcast traffic from Interface 1, It is received on some of the interfaces not all(like sometimes I see the broadcast packet received on Interface 2 or 3 or 4 sometime 3 and 4). I have a packet capture setup to see on what interface I receive the broadcast. Packet Test: Injected packet from interface 1 - mac_src aa:aa:aa:aa:aa:10 mac_dst ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff eth_type 0x800 ip_version 4 vlan_vid untagged ipv4_src 101.10.10.10 ipv4_dst 101.10.10.100 ip_proto 6 I received the above packet on interface 3 only(validated through captures setup on all connected servers.). At the same time, I took the combined captures on the Dashboard for interfaces 2,3,4. it also shows one packet. Ideally, it should show three broadcast packets as the captures are for combined interfaces 2,3,4. I just want to confirm if you see this behaviour in your LAB for the MS switch. Regards, Pavan Pawar

Like JacekJ said , I would enable bpdu guard or root guard. You want to control the STP topology and prevent people from sending unwanted bpdu.

Hi Jackson! From my own experience, It's better to turn off the Switches as recommended by Meraki and after turning them on, provision their stack. Even so, if the switches are already in production there may be some bugs or failures of not fully provisioning their stack and having to do the stack procedure more than once to succeed. With the switches in the staging process, you can do the same as the guide explains without problems with stack provisioning. https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Stacking/Switch_Stacks
