No More alerts for the as of this morning 6:30CST AM We had quite a few users from Friday 10/19 - lunchtime yesterday 10/24 that would randomly get blocked access to our File Server, which caused headaches. Would like the ability to "whitelist" an internal server on the IDS & not the "whole ball of wax, LAN/WAN" Being that there is no way to limit "whitelisted" IDS to internal traffic only, it prevented me from being able to whitelist the Rule ID 1-48205. Would like access to a "Meraki Security Threat" team, so when I call support in the future, someone can get me a definitive answer if this is a "waiting on patterns to catch up" or "you are being hacked sir".

As of 6:30CST. no more alarms since the one at 11:48CST. Everything is leaning towards the Snort Patterns that were applied at 11:50CST must have contained an updated whitelist of the Microsoft Patches released two weeks ago Either that or "hackers" are very crafty and decided to take a break before their next assault on our network.

PhillipDAth, I would definitely create a white list rule if there way a way to only "whitelist specific host /internal network". I definitely do not want to open it up externally in case an unpatched machine slips through the cracks & from what support said there was no way the segment the whitelist rule from Lan or Wan traffic.

It's from our internal Trusted File Server. The Vulnerability was a zero day on October 9th. Microsoft Release Patches & we applied them on October 13th. It’s almost like the new Microsoft Patch hasn’t been imported into Meraki’s repository. Our IPS Started Alerting on Friday. Getting a Large Number of these events since Friday. Anyone able to Shed light on the subject or seeing the same thing? I really don't want to whitelist the rule as support suggested. All of the Traffic it is blocking is coming from a Windows 2012 R2 File Server. on 445 (File Sharing) All Windows Updates are current on both Server & Windows 10 / 7 PC's Ran Multiple Vendor Scans for Malware / AV, Rootkits on File Server, Found Nothing. Didn't see anything crazy in Process Explorer attached to normal Windows Services.

With the newer Meraki Models Coming Out & 1GB Internet Circuits becoming affordable I feel Meraki needs to either come up with a Firewall Model in-between the MX84 & MX100 that has more throughput, with a price point that doesn't break the bank Maybe an MX 87 ? If the Current MX84 & MX100 Underlaying hardware is capable, release a firmware upgrade that will take the MX84 from 500 to 650 & the MX100 from 750 to 1GB

Want to Have Internet failover so if Site B's Cable Modem goes down, the Internet Connection can be routed through Site A using a 1GB Point To Point Fiber L2 Connection. I've read above solution on how to accomplish this using a LAN Connection on Site A to the WAN Connection on Site B I have Qnap's on both ends that I want to Synchronize (Rsync) at night after Backups complete, but will easily be instantly capped on the 500MBps limit on the MX84 at the backup site. Would like to see if there is an alternate way to accomplish this so I can take advantage of the full 1GB link on the PTP connection using only LAN ports on the MX's.

Glad to share an idea that helps everyone else out ! Here is another Great Lakes Cabinet we installed in a shared Building suite environment. Had to have a lockable cabinet to keep unwanted folks off of our equipment & network.

No problem at all! Our setup also uses a Meraki AP that feeds off of the switch. Most of our users are on laptops so of the power gets interrupted, they stay plugging away. If the main provider goes down during a power outage (which usually happens) we use a backup Verizon UML295 cell stick & for the most time the failover is seamless. With the attached equipment we're getting 70 minutes of runtime on an APC BR1500G. We just got in the BR1500MS model (featured in the photograph) which has the better Pure Signwave Output, but haven't ran a load test yet for comparison.

Thought I would share the Setup we are using going forward at most of our small remote locations. Total investment approx. $400 for rack components (Rack, Shelving, Patch Panel, PDU, & Battery Backup). The $30 Rocker switch addition (From Guitar Center) has saved us countless tech support calls when devices need to be rebooted. It makes it also easy for us admins to troubleshoot & keeps things nice & neat. No more end users saying which one is the Modem or trying to find the right cord to unplug.

I thought that too. Its strange I'm seeing all of the Remote VPN Participants even though there is supposed to be a 50 limit. However I have not gone through and tested each network that all the remote mesh participants are in.

Does the 50 Site to Site VPN limits on the MX64 Appliance apply to the Mesh VPN topology also ? For Example you have 75 Locations with MX64's installed. They are Setup with a Mesh VPN in-between each other & One Site to Site Meraki Non Peer back to the Datacenter. Would only 50 Sites be able to talk to each other & how would it choose which ones. If so I could see how they would have to be setup more like a Hub / Spoke & let the main Firewall at the Datacenter create all of the translation for the networks to all speak to each other.
