We've had this problem recently too. I opened a case with Meraki support. At first they said it was the code rev on my MX and were going to back rev it. A second case of this popped up and I noticed several of the sites in our Org were having the same issue. I called and spoke with a Meraki engineer. They looked and found the backend Meraki VPN Registry server(s) were overloaded. He had to manually push our Org to use different server(s). That cleared up the issue. He said there would have to be another re-balance done by Meraki support 6 hours after the actions he took. So, short answer, call Meraki support if you see this in the log files.

I'm for setting a schedule on my Outlook to tell me when to reboot something rather than pay a 3rd party to do that. The API option is also better. The best option would be for this to be integrated into the Meraki dashboard.

I learned something this week and wanted to share. We turned up a site recently with 2 ISP's feeding a MX95. Failover testing was done by unplugging one ISP at a time, and all worked well. This week, one ISP went into a suspended status, due to billing issue. This link was through .Internet 1. The other ISP continued working fine. However, in the dashboard, the site was down, but the users didn't experience any issues. After contacting Meraki support and talking with the working ISP, one of my co-workers came up with the bright idea to simply unplug the suspended ISP. That resolved the issue. We did test by connecting the Internet 1 link back to the suspended ISP, and the site went back to an unmanageable state. Couple theories why it was working: One, the suspended ISP was blocking 443 & 80 traffic but VPN traffic could still function. Two, link up status on the suspended ISP was faking out the Meraki as it was not a hard failed link. As it stands now, when the billing issues are resolved, we'll plug the second link back in and monitor for any problems. Any other theories?

This issue hit me too. There are firewall setting under the wireless tab separate from the rest of the firewall settings, which is annoying. The folks with an iPhone were having trouble sending messages with attachments cause the wireless firewall rule for blocking online backup was enabled. That rule stops iPhones from connecting to iCloud.

@Kieshan I was researching this same topic and came across this thread. I know its older now, but I thought of an idea. If sites are connected back to a DC Concentrator hub, then that can serve as a way to show the WAN traffic. If you look at VPN status, all the spoke sites have a status, plus the usage. Click on any one and it will show the daily usage. Granted this isn't data that can be exported, but it does answer one my questions; How much is each site using. I would like to see the spoke side show its data too. -Andrew

Problem is resolved. The problem was back at our DC Concentrator side. The switches that were alerting were part of a new IP range. The upstream firewall from our DC Concentrator didn't allow for the switch IP's to reach the Meraki cloud as prescribed in the FW rules. There was partial connectivity to the cloud. The dashboard did show, when looking at the switches, that the connection to the back up cloud was being used. Thanks to Meraki support for pointing out the issue. Brash, The dashboard doesn't indicate that we're in the process of an upgrade. The version on the switches is 14.33.1. The issue was present prior to the version we're running now. -Andrew

We've been setting up a new site. MX250 front end feeds to a PA then to a MS225. From that MS225, I've got both copper and fiber feeds to three other MS225's. The network functions, but the status lights continually flash white. I did a code upgrade on the switches and that worked fine. The ports that tie the switches together are set to trunk, same native vlan, and all vlans are allowed through. I've taken the PA out of the equation and that did not change the status. Looking at the dashboard for the switches, there's little gaps of connectivity. I have swapped out the SFP where I had fiber connections from Cisco SR to Meraki SR. The problem shows up on all switches including the first one in the chain. Has anyone else seen something like this?

I found I could add our networks to another template, so something had to be up with those that were throwing the error. Since there's no other networks bound to them, I took the brute force approach and deleted the templates and recreated them. Then we could bind the networks to the new templates. It require building a lot, but its done. Definitely not the elegant solution. -Andrew

We've got two templates built for our dashboard. One for MX250's and one for MX67's. When trying to add a network to either one, we're getting a "Server Error" screen. I have a ticket open with support, but wanted to see if the community has seen this.
