Thanks everyone for all the feedback. That's a lot of info to go through and investigate. Since we don't control or know anything about the 3560 switches, it will take some collaboration to see what is currently setup and what needs to be fixed. More info to come.

Hi All, We only have Meraki switches in our network, but we connect directly with a partner network who doesn't. Basically two of our switches connect directly with their two of their Catalyst 3560 switches. Could these switches cause STP issues with our Meraki switches? Currently the STP Guard is disabled for these ports, as under no circumstances can these connections be blocked. It's been running this way for years, without any obvious issues, but I was wondering what potential issues there could be and how to protect against it. The trigger for this was that today a trunk port on a different switch went to "STP root guard activated" today. Thanks Mark

Hi All, I was wondering what everyone does regarding Bridge priority. We have our core switch set to "0", but then I saw this document that I've linked below. https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Port_and_VLAN_Configuration/Configuring_Spanning_Tree_on_Meraki_Switches_(MS) There is a section that states: It is best practices to set a layered approach to the STP priorities in a network. For instance, if there is a clear Core <> Distribution <> Access Layer, priorities should be Core (4096), Distribution (16384), and Access (61440). At no point in a production network should you leave the any switch at its default configurations. It's the last line that caught mt attention. Does everyone set a bridge priority for all their switches? Thanks Mark

Hello All, Currently we are using a single MS425 core switch to handle all our vlan interfaces and routing. We've recently installed an MX105 and have set it up as shown in the diagram. I was wondering if it is possible for the MX to handle some vlan interfaces and keep some on the core as well? Thanks Mark

I'm trying to connect some devices to our MS-425 unit via a copper SFP. Devices running at 1GB connect without issue, but when trying to connect an older device that only runs at 100mb it does not connect. Same of course with 10mb. I've purchased different copper modules according to the suppliers recommendations, but the replacements act the same. Will the 425's slow down to 100mb or am I missing something? Thanks Mark

Thanks for the feedback. Yes you are correct.. I'm using W10. Also WPA2 and windows NPS for authentication. I agree that setting up authentication using the computer account and then user account is best plan and will work on setting that up. After some further testing today I see that no matter how you connect to wireless(pre or post login) it tries a computer account first and then the user account/password you enter.

Got a bit of a strange issue going on. I'm seeing 802.1X EAP failure with an identity of host/then the full pc name During the time this event occurs the pc is actually connected to the wireless network. It is connected with the normal user credentials. Same MAC address for both the connected and failing events. Same SSID as well. Anyone seen this? Thanks

Hi Philip, Thanks for the response. In looking at the RF Spectrum page I see a lot in the Interfering AP's section. I assume any/all of these could be the problem. Is there any way to tune for things like this? Or is it more of a live with it or move it thing. Thanks again Mark

I've noticed a strange issue mainly with our Outdoor MR74 AP's. Looking at the channel utilization live data shows high usage on the 2.4 Ghz channel, but there are no clients connected to the AP. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

Hello, We have a number of MR42E units with bendable antenna's. Is there a best practice as to how these should be aimed(pointed)? These units are all mounted on ceilings facing down. Thanks Mark
