MX64 using both DIA & a Layer 2 VPLS circuit

Hi, is i possible to have both a Direct Internet Circuit & a Layer 2 VPLS circuit on an MX64 device? Currently the site is just connected to the internet, but there is a legacy VPLS Layer 2 WAN link that could be used to connect back to our Data Centre. SD-WAN is not deployed yet as a solution, so the Layer 2 link would just use Ospf to peer with our Data Centre WAN Routers. Default route would be to the internet & only Ospf learned routes would traverse the Layer 2 WAN link. Could anyone confirm if this is possible on the MX64?   Thanks in advance ... View more

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. In the previous deployment using a Fortigate firewall, we have layer 7 policies that allow connectivity to different internet services such as Microsoft applications & a zscaler proxy service. We would like to deploy the same polices on the Meraki MX device. Are you are saying this is not possible, or is that supported with the SD-WAN Plus License? ... View more

Configure Layer 7 Rules on MX64

We have an MX64 that is to be deployed at one of our remote sites (version: MX 18.107.2), to replace a FortiGate Firewall. Currently looking into the configuration & the FortiGate firewall has the option of configuring policies/rules for cloud based internet services, such as Microsoft-Outlook, Microsoft-Office365 & for Zscaler etc. Looking at the options for adding a layer 7 firewall rule under Databases & Cloud Services, none of these appear to be listed & the option is to add a rule to Deny only. Is there another way to add rules to allow these internet services on an MX64, or any other Meraki Firewalls? ... View more

Tried various options & the working solution was 01:08:0a:14:0b:07:0a:14:15:07 using suboption 1, pointing at controller IP addresses 10.20.11.7 & 10.20.21.7 May help someone else out in the future ... View more

Sorry for the confusion, but i know how to add the option, i was wondering if anyone else had done this for a Huawei WAP & knew the correct hex value. I know how to translate the IP address to hex, its the hex characters that need to go before the ip address i need to find? ... View more

Has anyone ever set up DHCP option 43 to point an Huawei WAP towards the Wireless Controller at a remote site? With the type set for Text or IP & using the ip address, it does not register. So trying to work out the hex value, the actual IP address is not a problem, its the values before the ip address that are an unknown. Can anyone assist with how to work out the hex value? ...
