I have found this in the past with other devices and I managed to put it down to hidden characters in the SSID name that for some reason, some wifi clients are more sensitive (or tolerant) to than others. This should not be the case as "space" is still a character, even if its invisible at the end of a line, also paragraph returns can be in the SSID or password, especially if they were "cut" and "pasted" into the field.

Hi there, I think what you are proposing should work OK, if you wanted to be safe, you could also create a firewall rule to block all traffic to the VPN subnet from all other networks / vLANs - just "belt and braces" Although reading your post again, why not keep life simple and use client VPN ? OK, if this worked, it could have been a sticky record in the ARP table of the Sonas that was not clearing and although the radio was connecting the IP was not routing correctly, hence why the factory reset worked. I had it on good authority that the Sono's store a lot of data in their pRAM to make reconnecting quicker after a power off and by doing a total clear-out this could have been the solution. glad to help

Dear Friends, First my apologies for being a little silent on my most favourite community group of all time, fortunately, I have has lots of post-C19 lockdown small job's that have kept me busy for the last few weeks - small revenue but better than nothing 🙂 I have a medium size SME client with a full stack Meraki install (MX64 HA pair, MS320,MS220 & MR33's) and a mix of W10 and Mac client VPN users, normal the Mac Users are TOTALY trouble-free (and take almost no time to set-up, my record is 97 seconds), whereas W10 users can take anywhere between 15 mins and a day ........... However over the last few days, I have been getting a few calls from the Mac users saying that they are having issues connecting, I have not done any diagnostics yet and it does appear inconsistent. Dan, check if you have either L3 roaming turned on for that SSID or duel band with beam steering, both of these, for some reason, some of the time have an effect. I have a global client with 20 locations all with full Meraki stacks and all have at least 2 Sonos Play 1's and on some sites, they work no problem and on other sites, I have had to create a separate SSID with both of these turned off to make the Sonos's work - out of interest, I have had the same issue with Google Chromecast. I did some "unscientific " tests and could not come to a conclusive reason as the firmware of the Sono's and the firmware on the Meraki Stack were consistent on a working site and a non-working site - so totally inconclusive. Guys & Gils You will see there are actually a number of threads within the community with regards to this course and everyone is seeing and having the same frustration. I am also trying to get on this course and very keen to attend before November as the courses are currently on-line with virtual labs and training, which for me is very attractive as I would not have to travel. Reading down this thread, again, I am surprised someone from @Meraki has not picked this up and given some explanation as to what causes the "red triangle" and in what conditions it appears. I would like to think that whoever wrote the code for this UI would know what they did to trigger the icon. Lets hope we can get a definitive answer @CarolineS could you point this in the direction of support ? -Gary

Hi there, Being as 90% of the world uses the 24 hour clock as its standard time format and it removes any ambiguity (which is why the military, blue light & emergency services use it), its been this way on the dashboard since 2007 and there is no way to change it, why would you want to change it to a 12 hour format ? If you have a good reason, put it as a wish (on the bottom of every dashboard page) and it will get fed into the development stack and if there is enough traction, my experience says Meraki would add it as an option at some stage in the future

Hi there, Looking at your drawing, I am still unsure why you need to ue the WatchGuard box, it appears superfluous to the solution. Unless I am missing something. Just recreate your vLAN's on the MX which will take about 5 mins and use flows to provide the guests with internet access on the slower connection. There also may be a better way to give guest access to the network and still maintain separation by using a vLAN and a couple of firewall rules to block cross vLAN traffic and with 802.1x authentication or the access control options and a splash page

Hi there, This sounds a little confusing, a diagrame would help a lot, however, why do you not just se the WG box as a bridge and move the VLAN's over to the MX and make this your core, primary router - or why use the WG at-all ? For the guest network you can use WAN 2 on the MX for your slower connection and then, on the MX and use flow preferences to route your guest network to WAN 2. But depending on what your actual needs for the guest network are, there are also other options. Hope this helps start the discussion.

You could , but you would either have to create a local host file for each PC or have a DNS server that you have access to the host file that you can set-up the A records on. You would still have to use SMB for access to the remote site.

Hi there, Sorry for the late reply from yesterday, been a little manic, (my dear community friend) @PhilipDAth has given you the main answer as basically the who MS ethos is LAN based and does not normally support WAN enviorments. You should be able to ping each of the PC's on the alternative sites, assuming W10 firewall allows it, but remember that also W10 firewall, by default blocks traffic from non-local networks so this may also be an insure. You should be able to use smb://IPnumber/sharename For future, I would recommend from a network architecture point to always leave the management vLAN as 192.168.128.0/24 and the create additional vLAN's for the end-points leaving the infrastructure on the management vLAN and always leave the uplink ports as trunk ports. I agree with @PhilipDAth but I would also try switching all the uplink ports to trunk ports and allow all vLAN's and see if that make a difference also for the switches that keep having issues have you tried adding a second path, which should "block" initially but if the main uplink fails (for whatever reason) the port should then switch to forward - this should eliminate hardware issues. Hi there, Great to meet you, your post is a little confusing, so I will try and clarify a few things. I assume you have two sites with an MX at each site and therefore each MX is acting as a DHCP server for each site. In "addressing and vLAN" have you enabled multiple vLAN's and created an IP range for the local network at each site - the standard setting is one LAN (192.168.128.0/24) In the site to site setup in VPN settings, what network have you allowed in the VPN ? It may be worth drawing the two networks out to start with and share it (just a hand drawing and take a pic) Then I (we) can help further Regards Gary

Hi there, I made a post about this issue some months ago, I had the same problem and it appears that it was something to do with a combination of two things: Layer 3 Roaming Dual band operation with Band Steering But the issue was not constant with networks or devices, in the end I created a separate SSID for IoT devices (which is good practice anyway) set to bridge mode (or NAT) and Dual band operation. Also make sure you have theMinimum bitrate set to no greater that 11 This fixed both issues for me

@alsavi1984 I think @PhilipDAth has added a comment below saying if all is physically working, ignore the error and hopefully it will sort its self out, however, if you want to look deeper, the first thing I would do is remove the connection to Port 40 from the Esxi box and see if the error clears, this way you know where the error is coming from. If the error clears , great, if not then re-enable port 40 and remove 39 - again see what happens. On both ports of the Esxi box are the IP's static or DHCP - I would make sure they are DHCP and then, when you see them appear in the client log's make then fixed assignments on the MX (in effect making them static) but this way you can also check that the esxi box is picking up the right IP's (and sitting in the right vLAN's)
