Hi Shawn, thank you for taking the time to answer questions.   What target group of customers is this new change directed towards?   We have AP's, Cameras, Switches, and an MX. 8 networks, and a lot of users (2500-3000). I am wondering how the per-device license model will help or benefit us.   Also, is it possible to have both Co-Term and Per-Device in the same org?  ... View more

There are a lot of useful thoughts already commented, but personally I would love to have;   A "Assign IP Address" button a feature on the list-view screen of devices right next to "Edit" , It would make the job of assigning the IP address to devices so much easier, it was there for a while when I requested it from support and it was really helpful.     ... Can someone help with the usage? I can see the devices that fail authentication but there's no reason they should be failing, or at least the ones I know of have been online multiple times over the last day. How many AP's can I have in 1 area?

Recently we added a large number of wireless devices in one area, and we have seen 80+ devices on the Access Point, so we have another about 50' away in another room.   Could we have 2 access points side by side, one channel 1 / 100 and another 11 / 156 to split up the connections? or is it better to keep them separated by some distance? ... Meraki Throughput inaccurate?

When I run the throughput test on any switch in my network, I always get a throughput of 2.3mb/s to maybe 7mb/s    Speed test shows 400+ Mb/s but the throughput is always very low, is this an indication that something is incorrect on my network?  ... View more

So, from what you said the devices if we implemented NAT would not lose a connection by jumping to another AP in another room?   That would be the main concern for us, L3 Roaming wouldn't need to happen as the locations are very far apart from each other. ... View more

Nope currently it's not separate but with the NAT it would, I see that the roaming devices would essentially drop more frequently if they roamed at all. ... View more

NAT Mode or Bridge Mode?

I didn't have much experience when we deployed the Meraki Switches into our environment the first year I was here. Initially the scopes were pretty open but as we added devices especially chromebooks im almost always in the 90% utilization in DHCP, I don't want to reconfigure the scope until im ready to do all of the scopes and clean them up entirely.   Right now I use Bridge Mode on all of our SSID's but I was wondering if anyone suggests to use NAT Mode on those SSID's like Chromebooks who wont really need access to anything on the LAN not even printing.    Could that cause any potential issues? or should I apply any configuration to the switch ports or configuration in the dashboard before I do this?   Thank you guys, this community is very helpful! ... Thank you! I was just reading https://community.meraki.com/t5/Wireless-LAN/How-many-SSID-s-are-recommended-to-be-enabled/m-p/100#M5 and I agree, we have a Staff, Student, Guest, and Chromebook (OS Specific) but I might stop broadcasting guest except in the offices should limit it.    Our Chromebooks are 802.11ac for the most part. I believe they are all 5Ghz capable. I'll try in the spots that have issues to see about limiting the devices to 2.4 or 5 (either on the chromebook or dashboard) to see if it's band specific. ... MR16/32 Enable or Disable RSTP?

Been having some difficulty on the network, some access points hog up all of the clients and than drop about half at a time - even though there is a suitable access point closer to them. I know alot of it has to do with the device (Chromebook) but I thought there must be a better way to configure the switches to not over-load.   We have done extensive configuration changes over the last year, and determined one of the secure websites we use must be very sensitive to disconnects, when a device drops its signal even for a few seconds it logs the user out of the system.   My hope is that I did something wrong, any advise is appreciated!    Switches MS220's/MS320's - AP's MR32  Ports are configured as Trunk, RSTP Enabled, STP Guard disabled AP's are configured outside of neighbors channel, 2.4Ghz/5Ghz both active, broadcasting 4-6 SSID's auto-power settings     ...
