I know its an old question, however we had the same problem where we wanted to provide the users the possibility to use their known credentials they used from Office 365. In Azure we enabled Domain services. After that we could just use their accounts by saying to Meraki we had AD. Btw... Azure Domain Services will cost you about 93 euro per month 🙂

Thank you PhilipDAth! That solved it. You saved me from a downgrade of many computers! Also, once you opened the VPN via the methode you described ( Start/Settings/VPN/VPN) you can open the vpn via the system tray again! Regards, Reinout

Everything worked on the Windows 10 version 1803. We used split tunnel for accessing the internet. However now we are facing issues since some of the clients are updated to 1809 and 1903. Now we can not connect to the client VPN anymore when we use Windows version 1809 or higher... We sure added the correct registry keys and also use the same settings as we did on the 1803 versions of windows. Anyone else having the same troubles? Regards, Reinout.

Sure you can create a policy based VPN to azure, but be aware that if you require more bandwidth for your VPN or want to add multiple s2s VPNs to azure or add p2s VPNs to azure this policy based VPN is not a solution you want. Than you need a route based VPN or need to add a vMX100 in azure (which will cost extra)

That is true, however I meaned that I hoped the pricing would be comparable with the vgateway in azure. Meraki sales rep told the price would be the same as on aws. Maybe the price of the vmx is comparable with the ms vgateway (vpngw1) but now we also need to pay the extra vm in azure, so pricing is higher. Maybe my ignorance but I expected the appliance came including a vm os. The vmx probably has more options, but we only use it to configure multiple s2s and a bounce of p2s VPN, like we could do in the VPN sku vpngw1 of Ms.

No luck in West-europe... Oops! Could not create the marketplace item This marketplace item is not available. ... And all we wanted is to build a route based (dynamic) VPN with the MX84... Since this could be done (Meraki does not support that), we waiting for the vMX100 to bypass the limitations of a policy based (static) VPN in azure... a bit disappointed

If we can use it in stead of the MS Vnet Gateway and pricing is comparable, we can live with it, however, i can not find it in the Azure Portal. Also on the Meraki site there is not documentation (at least not that i can find) that explains about it for Azure, only for AWS...

What a disappointment.. I really liked the concept of Meraki, but since it still is not using IKEv2 we need to find something else. I know we can create a policy based VPN on azure, but then we have the next pitfalls (or am I misunderstanding this?): PolicyBased VPN Gateway RouteBased VPN Gateway Azure Gateway SKU Basic Basic, Standard, HighPerformance, VpnGw1, VpnGw2, VpnGw3 IKE version IKEv1 IKEv2 Max. S2S connections 1 Basic/Standard: 10 HighPerformance: 30 So we want a route based vpn... Not nice Meraki!
