I like 10.9 10.x has Loop-Guard for the uplinks. Switch stacking issues are gone now with 10.x It´s running well on a network with 23 switches MS220 and MS225, stacked and non-stacked, layer2 and spanning-tree, aggregated ports and connected to Cisco 3850 distribution switches and Cisco Catalyst 6800 Cores.

Maybe the cable had an loose connection. If you pull it back to the first port and checking if it´s good connected you will find out if this was the problem. Turning off the power saving for the network card will not save a lot of energy, I think you won´t find a difference in the energy bill. regards

- I had this kind of problems with Dell PC´s. After firmware updateing the network card it was gone. - Some other devices like Apple iMacs had this problem, and I solved it with fixing speed to 1GBit on the switch, since then there wasn´t this problem appearing - some other devices had a power-saving problem, and then the link speed changed all the time. After switching off power saving the problem was gone. good luck.

I had this issue as well. We use Dell PC´s and notebooks and Apple Mac´s on Meraki MS-220 and MS-225 switches. The Dell notebooks got an network firmware upgrade. then it worked well. On the PC´s we disabled the power savings for the network card.

maybe the wrong VLAN on the connected port, allowed VLANs on trunk ports correctly configured? I need to configure trunk for the accesspoints (accesspoints decides client to use the the right VLAN by asking Cisco ISE), and no VLAN entering in the IP config for the accesspoint. Accesspoint needs a fixed IP-adress when working with Cisco ISE as radius-server.

Yes, maybe brave. But the beta repaired a bug which made problems to our networks. Now I have the choice between two bugs Or to buy quick new cables.

Only 2 switches per stack. It worked since month. Now after updating the switches are crashing. I tried out with Cisco/Meraki 40G cables: and it´s working.

Hello, I experienced a strange thing. First I have to say: Yes I know I should use original spare parts. I did an upgrade from 9.31 to 10.6 on a switch stack of two MS225-48LP, after that none of the switches answered by ICMP ping. I had to restart them but had the same issue. Resetting didn´t work. Without stacking the switches were working well. So I did an update to 10.8 but the same issue occured when stacking the switches. I have to say that I never had this problem before. And I took unused cables from our Hitachi HDS system and from our NetApp System. They are the same type of cables. Until the update it worked well with that cables. And the cables are 40G stacking cables as well. But now my stacks are running only with the Cisco 40G stacking cables. After I took them everything was fine. Now I have a lot of stacked switches and have to replace the used cables before updating any firmware. anybody with same experience?

I think they like to bridge because they don't have the same Network (VLAN). Can you look if the VLANs are routed that the accesspoints can see each other in the cabled LAN? Otherwise they see an "unconnected" (to the same (V)LAN) accesspoint and want to mesh it.

Same problem, now afraid to update to 10.6. Working with stacked MS225-48LP. Also had spanning-tree loops while rebooting with aggregated uplink ports over two stacked switches.

Cisco switches are shown as a rhomb in the topology view. When you point at the rhomb symbol you will see the switch name, port and so on. You need to switch on lldp and or cdp protocol on the Cisco switches. Cloud integration is not supported.

Hi, we use Cisco ISE as an radius server. The ISE is connected to the Microsoft AD and the Meraki WLAN is connected to the ISE. Once a user wants to connect to the internal SSID the ISE checks if the device is allowed to go to the internal LAN (it´s checked if windows devices have an certificate and if the useres connecting with their AD account to the SSID). If the device is not allowed to the internal LAN it will placed to the "external" (V-)LAN for internet connect. Guests will connect to an Guest-SSID with frequent changing preshared keys routet dirctly to an external VLAN for internet access. regards redsector

Hello, I need to make some WLAN bridges in a funfair park. The problem is to brigde more than one VLAN. I need more than one VLAN for some reasons. And they can´t effort bridges for each VLAN in every kiosk. Any suggestions? different (not Meraki) hardware? Thank you redsecor

I have got a bunch of MR32, MR33, MR42, MR52 all with firmware 25.8, they´re running very solid with that firmware. The accesspoints are connected to Meraki switches and to Cisco Catalyst 2960X switches. It´s important to connect them with trunk-ports and the SSID needs a VLAN tag or a connection to a radius server handling out the VLAN (f.e. Guests in VLAN 2 and employees to VLAN 1). regards redsector ___________________________________________________

Strange thing. But I did it like described several times. Once I did it from version 9.26 to 9.31 and later from 9.31 to 10.2 on five stacks with each two MS225-48LP members.

My experience is the opposite: upgrading stacked switches step by step, in a staggered upgrade with a time gap of about half an hour has the best results. Upgrading switches in a stack at the same time leads to unexpected results as loops and spanning-tree issues. I think the reason is while booting the stacked switches the stacking-ports and aggegated links on different switches are in an unconfigured state leading to the described errors.
