By chance, do you have a Layer 7 Application deny rule in place (the Peer 2 Peer applications in particular) for that SSID under Wireless - Firewall & Traffic Shaping -Block applications and content categories? If so, you might want to temporarily remove it if able to per your configuration requirements and monitor connectivity. For reference, I experience seemly random loss of browsing (random devices on random APs) when on any network when the above is active. This issue returns and stops when activating or deactivating this Deny rule. I have a support case open as this Deny rule was in place for several years and appears to have only started since upgrading APs to 30.x Firmware.

Did you roll back to 30.6 and if so, did that correct the performance issues you were seeing on 30.7? I'm seeing similar issues on my MR46 APs.

I can log into my dashboard but I can't view any pages on n298 it would seem. Also seeing devices with the Meraki agent installed showing "went down" and "came up" repeatedly.

I check a couple of my largest networks and do not see any error code 30 on either network going back 30 days. A couple details of note. I am running 30.5 - not sure if there will be a difference between .5 and .6 that you are running. I have MR42 and MR52 APs which I believe are a wireless generation older than yours. Client balancing and band steering are off. For reference, we use various HP, ACER and ASUS Chromebooks.

On the medium to high packet loss on the APs, is this being reported on the AP Neighbors page? I noticed the same when I upgraded my networks to 30.5 a couple months ago. Packet loss was constantly reporting very low prior to the upgrade then medium to high after. Interestly, the packet loss is exactly the same percentage on both 2.4 and 5Ghz. This along with not a single reported issue at any of our schools (1 to 1 Chromebooks in all locations) leads me to believe this is a dashboard reporting/display issue rather than an actual packet loss issue.

I'm starting to see this now as well - pretty much exactly as you described. I'm also seeing issues were I cannot upgrade the client or even use any of the Live Tools on devices that do show to be currently online. I either get an agent not responding error or server errors and that Meraki tech support has been notified. Not sure what it going on.

As mentioned, you can create separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5. If you want to have a combined SSID as you have now, you may wish to adjust the power settings for both 2.4 and 5. For example, set the 2.4 radio power to 3db and the 5 to 15bd - adjust power settings until you get an acceptable result for your environment. From the log provided, it looks like the 2.4 radio power is quite high. All this is assuming that wireless card drivers are behaving somewhat correctly.

This is assuming your cabling is: switch, LC patch cable to patch panel, fiber backbone to another patch panel, LC patch cable to 2nd switch. On one end of one of the LC patch cables, you may need to flip the two fibers - depending on how your location is cabled. For example, if the patch cable is a straight through cable, you can flip or cross the fibers on one end so that the patch cable is A to B. Again, only on one end of one patch cable in the link. Most (at least in my experience) fiber patch cables are built so that the LC connector housing is able to be removed in the field in order to flip (swap places is probably a better description) them in cases where it is needed. I don't want to steer you down a path that you are not comfortable with doing. I thought I would just at least mention this as a possible course of action if it is needed. Another possibility is to contact Proline tech support. I've always had a great experience with them.

Just throwing this out there not knowing what fiber patch cables you are using. Have you tried reversing the polarity on one end of the LC-LC patch cable? I've had to do this when using some models of Proline SFPs over the years.

I've definitely had AP with bad radios over the years. If you haven't done so already, do a factory reset on that suspect AP (https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Support/Resetting_Cisco_Meraki_Devices_to_Factory_Defaults) and if possible, move it to a completely different location to test general connectivity and roaming. I would also recommend contacting support and have them monitor these roaming attempts in real time. They will assist with packet capturing which may shed some light on the issue but again, I would do a factory reset on that AP first.

I would definitely start by disabling Client Balancing then be sure to manually assign channel and power on each AP radio (disable 2.4 if possible in your environment). You may find in your environment (as I did in my school district) that if the 2.4 band is required, you will need to greatly reduce the power on the 2.4 radio. You will have to determine what works for you but in my environment for example, I use a baseline power setting of 3db on the 2.4 radio and 12db on the 5 radio to get a cell size that works quite well for our high density AP deployment. I should say that I also disabled Band Steering. You mileage will vary based on your environment but hopefully you will be able to find a baseline setup and then make small tweaks from there.

Yep, no change here either with Beta 28.4 - I still have the same nine MR42 APs that reduce to around 20Mb until they are restarted. They then run at full expected speed until whatever happens to reduce them to around 20Mb. Rinse and repeat.

@dalmiroy2k - If I recall correctly, selecting Disable on the 2.4 radio does disable it for any client usage but the AP will still use that band for AP to AP meshing traffic even if the AP is in Gateway mode. Perhaps Meraki or someone else in the community can confirm this. Don't want to start any rumors...
