Yes that's obviously a contributing factor, along with many others. However, the fact remains you can seemingly achieve a very similar outcome for a lot less. I think part of this is down to Cisco's competition improving their cloud solutions. Another is Cisco moving significantly to being reliant on income from subscriptions in one form or another. What I'm getting at is, it is becoming almost impossible to justify the difference in price between Meraki and their competitors. When faced with a significant licence renewal, it's quite rightly being questioned.

Hi, Wasn't really sure where to post this... The organisation I'm employed by, is currently looking to move away from Meraki for in house and customer installations. The seemingly constant increases in hardware and licensing has prompted the review. Various alternatives are being reviewed. Ubiquiti, Aruba etc. Has anyone had a similar situation? I would be interested to know, if Meraki was continued to be the solution of choice, how that was justified.

Think they need to approach the cat's agent, and get it reshot on one of their own smart cameras! 😂

Thankyou - An interesting discussion. I use Ekahau for design, was really just after the likely reduction in coverage using 6 compared to 5 GHz. Looking likely additional APs/structured cabling will be required to cover the same spaces. Haven't had a chance to look at a site and survey/plan yet, but will be interested to see how it works out. CW9162I APs that have been proposed (Cisco DNA flavoured) to replace the Cisco 3702/2802 APs.

Hi, It's looking highly likely I will be involved in a refresh of close to 1000 APs with Cisco/Meraki 6E models. With the utilisation of the 6Ghz range, I can foresee having quite a bit of work getting the coverage right. Out of interest has anyone had experience of a similar exercise and if so, roughly how many additional APs were required? I've been seeing an additional 20% mentioned while doing some research. Any general experiences of using the CW models would also be gratefully revived. Cheers

Thank you for your responses. Found what I was after in the end with a little help from support: Network-wide -> Alerts -> Wireless -> A new user registers via splash page. From here you can simply add email addresses you would like to be notified when a new guest login is created via the splash screen.

Hi, Is it possible for email notifications to be sent to approvers when a new guest wifi account is created by the guest user? This relates to a Sign-on with Meraki authentication set on the SSID. The example I can provide is: Guest enters their details via sign up page. New account is created and visible on the User management portal. Details sent to guest user. New account isn't approved until an approver verifies. It's at this point that it would be useful for an email alert advising that a new guest account needs verification in the User management portal to be sent. Thanks Phil
