I have 5 SSID's and am working to combine a couple to get down to 3. That being said, how or why do they 'need' 8 SSIDs? I'm in a school environment also and cannot fathom why anyone would need that many.

Not this particular model but we had a whole bunch of a specific model laptop have similar issues (can't remember the model off the top of my head) and a quick Google search found it to be a problem with that particular card. Even if its a one off case and no one else is having issues it sounds like a hardware issue.

I agree with the solution of removing the splash page from the password protected SSID; however, it doesn't really solve the issue of why the splash page is causing so many issues. I also have a splash page on my BYOD or guest use wifi and even though I have it set for 90 days it still bothers the users all too often. I also want to just remove it, but then again we have a legal department that isn't too happy about that.

I use the Google authentication method for our BYOD devices and for some reason lately some devices (phones mainly since that is what usually is on it) just randomly disconnect. Not to mention each time a user enters a new building (which is a separate 'network') they have to re-authenticate. I'm not sure if that's a problem on my end or Meraki, but it would be more frustrating if that were the authentication method for essential devices.

I agree this needs to be updated on the client list page. Having to drill down to the AP itself just to the actual channel width being used is redundant.

Something I've found recently that seemed to help was changing my channel width to 20MHz instead of 40 or 80. Talking about brand new Dell laptops that should work with any but seemed problematic until I did this.

When my users bring their personal devices in we use Google authentication for those devices. That part works perfectly; however, each separate 'network' requires they authenticate even though its all under the same organization. Is there any way around that? The real kicker though is the 90 day splash page timeout, would be nice if that could be unlimited.

As was said, I ventured into the template zone and quickly backed out just by how it acted..........or from my fear of something getting written over. I have 40 sites, all individual networks. It is more daunting when I need a change at all of them but since I copied the networks as I created them that is few and far between.

I had some Windows 7 devices experiencing a similar issue and it turned out to be the specific card not playing nicely, not the system itself. When we eventually migrated away from that model the problem went away. We made some card configurations (under device manager) to lessen the issue until that time.

Beware though, I had initially tried to block personal Cell phones from attaching to our staff wifi and it would end up blocking Corporation owned Ipads (I had the GPO for iPhone set).

Is this due to a recent change? I've been using wifi calling with Meraki MR42's for a year now (currently running 25.13) but have not heard of it not working anymore. Guess I'll investigate.

I particularly like the solution of using Meraki DHCP as that is what I do here. Its easy and offers plentiful addresses and easy way of throttling the clients if necessary.

I am running MR42's with the 25.13 and hundreds of Win10 laptops and not heard of this happening. Initially I thought I had heard of Win10 having some wifi issues but that was when it was first shipped, nothing recent unless its Wifi card specific. Good luck in your search, these types of issues can be trying.
