I do have a MR42 and MR33 I could test this on. I am unclear on how to disable/config 802.11k, if you provide some assistance I could do some testing. My existing testing was with no changes to 802.11k. Using a Google Pixel 3 XL with both new and old apps on MR33 behind a MX67. I also have other clients environments that have different MX devices that I could test on.

Trying to register for an ECMS1 course and get the "Sorry this webinar doesn't exist" message. As I read it they open registration on the first and third Tuesday of the month? Should I be able to register on May 21st then?

Verified this device below works on MX64 and others on T-Mobile with minimal setup. Might be a solution for you. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0JY15V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One thought would be to use an unlocked usb modem that supports Verizon, possibly it will work. I am not sure this one will work, but it might be worth a try. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0JY15V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I do know this works on MX devices with T-Mobile Sim cards.

Also to note if you are going to go this route of cellular to ethernet the 67C is probably not the best fit or most economic. I would recommend MX64 or possibly even Z3/Z3C depending on the device count behind the MX. Both are drastically cheaper and will most likely handle the needs depending on features and services needed.

Couple things to try would be do a packet capture while trying to watch a facebook video, see if you can find a url that you could blacklist. The other would be to try bandwidth limiting all facebook access to something that can't handle video (50kbps), but can handle text. It won't block it, but the videos probably will never load.

From my experience the answer would be yes. I have not tested this with a 67C with cellular only though. 1- You can use a cellular modem at the very least to be a primary uplink, but it won't be marked as primary. It should actually work with the sim in the device so you shouldn't need the usb modem, but that would be worst case. 2- SD-WAN has worked for me when using a usb modem, so I would say yes it will work with the internal sim Keep in mind my answers with this are with running for less than 30 days in these types of configurations, so I may not be aware of using this method long term. I have tested on a 64/65W/67 models with a cellular modem only. I don't believe you can mark cellular as primary, but while it is in use SD-WAN works.

Not that this will solve your issue directly, but possibly swap the Z3 for a MR33. Then make the clients (I am assuming small Windows deployment) use a client VPN. This might make the other office IT happier instead of knowing there is another firewall and DHCP device in the network. Another option I would say is look at the topology and see if it is possible to get the one ethernet patched directly above their UTM, like in the carrier modem or CPE. Get a static public IP and then connect your Z3 to that port. Then you are using their internet, but not in their network.

Are you testing with 1 device connecting to the AP like a phone or something? Possibly test with a different device to see if the problem issue is on the device and not the AP.

My thoughts are speed issues might be related to the amount of clients on AP1 or the traffic on it. 2 things you could try is turn off AP1 and see if the devices connect to the closest AP and experience the same issue, if they do maybe you need to do a new site survey after hours to better determine your AP locations. The other thing would be to check the traffic on the AP1, if there is high Youtube or streaming video traffice, create some shaping rules or find the problem device and see if you can correct it.

Kind of wondering if the MR33 mount kit could be reused for the MV12 since it comes with a mount for a t-bar.

A bit frustrating, but I found out the L3 rules on the firewalls were copied from a production mx to the new ones. In the process the rules were set to deny, when they should have been allowed. End result my config is working without issue at the office. I can check at home, since I have the same setup there. MX67/MR33. Just to double check what kind of circuit are you on? Any tests from that side? Any loss to other servers? How much optimizing of traffic to RC have you done on your Meraki side?

@BrandonS Partner for RC and Meraki here also. Also noticing issues accessing the service.ringcental.com site to login to their portal when behind the MX wired. Not sure if that is related to the phone issue. What is the difference in the apps? I have the old app on Android, debating on installing the new one for testing.

The space is leased and we were more worried about damage to tiles, so thats why I asked about the t-bar, t-rail mount. I feel like I might need to get creative and 3D print one for testing 🙂

My MR33s at both locations are 25.13. So maybe we need to look at the MX. My 67s are on 14.39.

Any suggestions on mounting an MV12WE to a drop ceiling T bar? The mounting kits from what I can tell are for wall mounting or pole mounts.

We use the powershell method, but just to note that sometimes Windows 10 updates will cause the settings to get reset and you will need to be able to repush and run the script.
