Hi,   Just testing the MT10 sensor and the server cabinet has a non-flush mount door. The door is about 1/2" farther out than the enclosure. I see the documentation says "flush mount" and I understand the distance from the sensor to the magnet, but is there a height minimum between the sensor to the magnet?   Looking to add some thicker double sided tape to bring the magnet further out, I just need to know the tollerence.     Thanks ... Other than Make a Wish through the Dashboard, is there a way to request enhancements here? Specifically on Door sensor alerts (to start), why would there not be a time variable? If Door is open for more than a minute Alert, rather than just Door open which would eventually just be noise to operators?   Cheers ... View more

Hi, I thought I would post this here, and I will cross post on DUO as well in hopes it will save someone some grief. Background - Client using Meraki Client VPN with DUO, works fine. Client wants to add a new VLAN/Subnet then all of a sudden DUO stops authentication with the new Subnet "IN VPN". If you don't add the new VLAN/Subnet into the VPN it works fine. Called Meraki support and asked if the IP address (source to Auth Proxy) would change by adding a new VLAN; the answer was no the IP should stay the same. Took a sniffer trace with and without the new VLAN and found the IP address of the Meraki did change, so we had to add it to the allowed sources in the Auth Proxy config. Then it worked. Verified with Meraki  (for some unknown reason) that it takes the highest VLAN numbers' IP address as the the SVI for the Meraki Client causing the source IP address of the Auth request to come from the higher IP address. Just completed a wireless site survey using a MR36. Just wanted to post as I had to find the docs to do it but you can set the AP to Survey mode via its' on web page. Put the AP on a ladder with a PoE injector and moved it around and used Netspot to perform the survey. We almost had to use a generator because there was not much power available at the site (new buildings).   Anyway just wanted to post if someone else needs to do this - worked great!  ... View more

So had a really tough issue to figure out, when a client doing SQL queries from Branch to Hub. THe issue was the first authentication failed, but then the DB would hold creds in it and it would work afterward. Had this at all branches to 2 SQL servers in the hub.   Meraki said nothing is being logged so it's not them, but if I whilelisted the client it worked. I create a custom policy to try to figure out where is was being block, when I just added in an any any rule (and using all the other MX defaults) it worked.   Then I took out the P2P rule and country blocks from the MX and it worked. I then added back the country blocks and it still worked. When I added back the P2P it failed. So now I had the problem. In speaking with support my questions were why isn't this block in the logs, and what ports/protocols are the P2P blocks using.   Answers - Layer 7 blocks are not logged and we don't know the ports/protocols P2P uses as we just get the feeds.   My other questions is when I created the Policy I only allowed the firewall features permit any any so the layer 7 rules still should have kicked in and blocked P2P, but they didn't . So now I think there are some bugs going on here, but why not log any blocks? ... View more
