Why do the guest users need to access the internet from the central site? I've usually just sent them out of the local site with corporate users going via a central site where it can be better controlled.

@Kenny_M8 why do they need static management addresses? Old style syslog server or authorisation servers? If you can set them up as a set couldn't you have all the addressing with only the MX WAN being 'wrong' at this point?

I always go with your first architecture, but replace the MS130s with unmanaged Cisco layer 2 switches. Cheaper, simpler, can't be hacked and do the job. At their price you can always have a spare onsite.

1.1.1.1 is also the IP that a lot of Meraki devices use when rebooting before getting a DHCP address. I've no idea why, but when I reboot switches the APs all seem to briefly send as this...

1) Claim the devices and serial numbers into your organisation 2) Add the devices to your network 3) Create one or more SSIDs with authorisation methods etc. 4) Plug in the devices 5) Connect to the SSID There are many more configuration steps that you can do, but essentially that will get you started.

Indeed, the 18.x firmwares in particular have had this problem. The 19.x firmwares had apparently fixed it, but I see that in the 9th December update it is back... 🤦🏻♂️

I have done this where either an event is in just part of a building, or you want to retrict public access to reception areas etc. Simply assign a tag to those APs and set the SSID to only be enabled on APs with tag X.
