Unable to add a new switch on meraki dashboard.

Hello,

I have a brand new C9200CX switch that was converted to "Meraki Cloud" using the various "Meraki Connect service" commands, etc.

When the switch reboots, it gets stuck on "Meraki Connect service is enabled," and I can no longer access the CLI.

I added it to my dashboard using its cloud ID, but it still shows as "offline" in red.

I don't have a firewall, and I use DHCP on my network.

I also have another question: as the documentation indicates, after switching the switch to cloud mode, it performs a "factory reset." How can it connect to the cloud if it no longer has an IP address, gateway, or DNS?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

In Cloud Operation Mode, Catalyst initializes with a Meraki agent that automatically enables DHCP on the uplink ports, obtains an IP address, attempts an outbound connection to the cloud, and finally registers using the Cloud ID.

Can you verify on your DHCP server if the switch is actually receiving an IP address?

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Hello,

Thank you for this information, which I wasn't aware of.

My DHCP server is working (it's my home router). When I unpacked my switch, it correctly received an IP address before converting it to Meraki mode.

Furthermore, my PC (connected to the same wall outlet) is receiving DHCP correctly.

For your information, the switch is flashing green.

Is it possible that this is related to the license, which I haven't yet added? (although I have claimed the device)

@AGH if you connect to the switch, can you access the local status page and see what it is saying?

Unfortunately, I don't understand how to access the LSP on a C9200CX-8P-2x2G.

There's no MGMT port.

I'm using a front-end port and I've put my PC in the 198.18.0.x subnet with DNS, and I'm trying to access switch.meraki.com or 198.18.0.2, but nothing happens.

I'm not sure if this is the correct method.

@StevenPPAA did manage to connect to it in this post, Solved: Re: Converting C9200CX-8P-2X2G to cloud managed-Meraki-Device - The Meraki Community, it might be worth contacting him.

Have you added the switch to both your Meraki inventory and added it to a network in the Meraki dashboard?
