WPA3 compatibility with Local Auth?

I'm trying to use the "Enterprise with Local Auth" option for security on a SSID, and WPA2 is the highest version of WPA that is listed under the "WPA encryption" field.  If I choose the "Password" option, WPA3 is available as expected.

  1. Is the unavailability of WPA3 with Local Auth expected behavior?
  2. Will WPA3 be available with Local Auth in the futuree?

It's not available yet.

Actually, I'm almost sure that it's not supported.

I'm pretty sure it isn't supported.  I'm more wondering if it's expected in the future.  Maybe a Cisco employee can chime in.

It could be easily supported as all needed building blocks are already available on the AP. I would expect that the demand is quite low as this is more of a niche feature. I just gave feedback on the config page that WPA3 is missing.

Is there any update on this, looking to use WPA3 ideally but with local auth and noticed its still not available?

I'm looking for this as well, I've used the "submit feedback' in the portal. Recommend anyone else looking for this do the same.

Hi All,

I can confirm this is on our radar after doing research internally, but as always submitting feedback as @GNygren mentioned helps prioritize these types of requests in our product/development teams visibility for prioritization! Outlined below for those who are unfamiliar with the process:

Although this feature is not available, we take our customer feedback seriously. We encourage you to use the Meraki dashboard to "Give your feedback" and submit a feature request. You can submit a feature request at the bottom of any dashboard page. Any wish that is made sends an email to our Product Managers and Development Teams. These wishes are taken into consideration and are used to help shape our product roadmaps. The most wished-for items are incorporated into product development. Fun fact, nearly 90% of Dashboard features have come from customer feedback requests!
