Unboxing CW9176I-RTG AP

Here is a photo gallery and unboxing of a Cisco WiF-7 CW9176I-RTG Access point.

I needed some visibility and access to the 6Ghz frequencies so I upgraded some older MR42 APs

to the new CW9176I APs.  The single PID made ordering easy and the include brackets

made mounting easy.  Link the the photo gallery that has notes is:  https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCiedx

The built in GPS that is included in the CW9176I makes AFC (automatic frequency coordination) easy

and enables me to use standard power vs lower power indoor profiles in some of the 6Ghz band.

They linked up at 10G over a single run of ethernet with bt POE and I am seeing 2G phy connections from

some of clients with 6Ghz wifi

Kind of a big deal

Good to see that looks like the same bracket as the previous generation CW9166I model 🙂

Actually that is not the same bracket that is included with the 9166i or the MR57. Both of those models ship with the only bracket that matters, the AIR-AP-Bracket-2 aka the Universal bracket. The AP Bracket 1 is a waste of sheet metal as it cannot be affixed to any electrical box of any type. If you are using a third party mount you will most likely just end of pitching the  AP bracket 1 into the trash where it belongs, as the lions share of these from Hubbell/Acceltex/VenTev etc dont use bracket 1's,  they use the standoff  "feet" keyholes

I appreciate the inclusion of the coin, but I thought it was customary to use a banana for size comparison 😂
