Swapping APs

Hi-

We are looking to make a 1-to-1 swap/upgrade of our Access Points.  Do I need an installer- or is just a matter of takign down one and putting up the other?  Thoughts as to the scope of this work?  Can it be done by a B&G Person in coordination with a somewhat techie person?  Or is best to bid this out?

Take a look at this.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

What is a B&G person?

Basically you just add the new APs to the Meraki Dashboard network, give them a name, fill in their physical address for the map, physically remove and replace the AP, and then remove the old AP from the Meraki Dashboard network.

You won’t like the answer but have you considered a site survey?  Whilst you may have great coverage etc now those new APs may operate differently.  You may require more APs than you currently have or the reverse.

I'm not an employee of Cisco/Meraki. My posts are based on Meraki best practice and what has worked for me in the field.
