Support SSID broadcast in 6 GHz in Viet Nam

Dear Meraki Support Team,

I am currently using three Meraki access points in our deployment: two MR53 units and one MR56. As Vietnam has officially approved the use of the 6GHz band for WiFi 6E, I would like to enable this functionality. However, I have not been able to activate or detect the 6GHz band on these devices.

Could you please advise whether the MR53 and MR56 models support WiFi 6E in Vietnam? If they do not support it, do you have recommendations for Meraki models that are compatible with 6GHz in this region?

Additionally, if firmware updates or configuration changes are required to enable 6GHz operation, I would appreciate your guidance.

The MR53 and MR56 do not support the 6Ghz...see the datasheet.

MR57 and the new AP's CW9172H, CW9172I, CW9176I, CW9178I, CW9176D1 will support it.

But can not tell you about any restriction on Vietnam.

I think you may be confusing WiFi6 with 6 GHz.    Although the two incorporate '6', the 6 GHz frequency band is only included from WiFi6E onwards (I.e. 6E and 7 currently).

I believe the Cisco WiFi7 APs will be released in Vietnam in the Summer - June or July, I think.

Going sideways, you also have to be using WPA3, which currently has poor driver compatibility.
