Some MR46 APs only power with 25.5W on the port

Hi everyone!

We have an organisation with round about 3000 APs since 2021.

Since the beginning I saw a few of the MR46 powering with only 25.5W on the port, even though the remaining watts on the switch are more than enough. As always, a reboot helps most of the time.

Does anybody have an explanation for that? Why does that happen at all?

Thanks in advance!

Have a great day.

How many ap's you have on the switch and how many poe budget has that switch?

At boot most ap take max poe to boot. It could be that if they all request the poe+ at the same time the switch cant deliver that power.

An MR46 shouldn't need anywhere near 30W in normal operation, the second one down here is an MR46E as seen from the Switch/Ports view:

Incidentally the 3rd is a CW9166i, showing again that not nearly peak power is used.

What do you see on this view, or are you not using Meraki switches?
