PoE for WiFi7

Hi,

I want to make a proposal of WiFi7 and looking at the info for MS150 switch, it says are ideal for WiFi7 because of PoE++, but looking at the datasheet of 9172I it says that operates at 30W (PoE+) for full radio functionality. So, Do I need PoE++ switches for WiFi7 or just normal switches with PoE+ is enough?

Thanks

My 9178 doesn't even announce Wi-Fi 7 without PoE++.

For a new rollout I would go for devices that support more than 30W. And if the MS150-X models are considered, it's worth looking into 9300L which are heavily discounted at the moment and are only slightly more expensive than the MS150-X.

Hasn’t WiFi8 just been announced as well….? 😁. You need multiple Generators for each AP.

Expected for 2028, I would not expect to be happy with only 30W … But likely also not a IEC 60309 plug. 😀
