MR44 - Firmware upgrade failed

Good Afternoon all, During a recent install i had a bit of a nightmare installing a batch of MR44's that were new but had been in storage for a little while (approx 9-12 months). The AP's were in the Org's inventory so was just a case of moving them into the customer's existing assigned Network (which i must stress already had a number of MR44's correctly registered). The AP's would get an IP address but would just stay showing as "Never connected to the dashboard". Many hours later the AP's started to register. I checked the event log from which we could see a large qty of errors stating - Device reboot - reason: firmware upgrade failed. This happened on both 30.6 and then 30.7. Anyone seen this behaviour before?

Darren, this has happened to me as well. On one network I had to reset the APs up to 3 times.
On another network I had to change the registration traffic to the other ISP because when the APs tried to register there was a communication problem with the ports used for this purpose.
It is possible that a device that has already been registered works well and you have problems when registering a new device, especially if it has to update and download several firmware versions.

Hey @JAEspinosa1 , it really did have me chasing my tail for a period!  I could see traffic traversing the customers firewall, the devices were in the right VLAN and were getting the correct management IP but for a second it me doubting myself.

Would be worth talking to support to see if there is a supported and unsupported upgrade path. I cannot find anything in the documentation.

Hi @BlakeRichardson , I did raise a case to explore that but they weren’t overly helpful
