Inconsistant Warehouse Aisle Signal coverage MR86 /ANT2513P4M-N

Hi All

Anybody have any experience with MR86's with /ANT2513P4M-N Antennas?

Having completed a Ekahau survey of a New Warehouse implementation it appears that we have a large amount of AP's having inconsistent signal range.

These AP's all have the same profile and correct antenna setting configured as the AP's with consistent and expected signal range.

All installed at same Height and method , one AP at each end of an Aisle within the Aisle system.

Switchports have also been checked .

Aware of the Unii1  channel power restriction also.

Any Ideas where to start looking as well as contacting support?

Any pointers much appreciated

Thanks

Greetings,

Where in the aisle does the inconsistent signal range issue start happening? Is there anything different near the problematic APs such as any inventory or obstructions that may cause signal interference? For the problematic vs non-problematic APs is there any difference in the actual power the APs are using? If you move an AP that is not having issues with an AP that is having issue does the problem stay in the location or does it follow the AP? Is the issue at the same end of an aisle or in the same area only or does it span throughout the warehouse?

I highly recommend opening a case with support and provide the Ekahau survey taken for the engineer to parse through to collaborate on what may be causing the issue. The reason for this ask is that not knowing the floorplan or the full network setup it will be difficult to recommend anything based on what you are seeing so far and the best option is to have support engaged to deep dive the environment.

Hey D_Tak , case opened with Tech , Ekahau survey file and a list of dodgy /inconsistent AP's and good consistent AP's has been supplied.

Initial post was to ask for any pointers or known issues to look at along with a support call

Typically, I would look at the current power output that the problem APs are putting out along with the environment directly to see if there is anything that may be creating interference with the signal for those particular APs. Are you noticing the issue more on 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz bands or both? How are the APs Mounted are they ceiling mounted or are they mounted to a post?

The AP's in question are only running 5Ghz.

All AP's & Antennas are mounted on boards which are hung from the Cabling containment systems at each end of every aisle.

Profile has been added for these AP's using the ANT2513P4M-N antennas TX power setting 5-7dBm , most AP's have settled at 5dBm , AP's using Unii1 channels are restricted to 4dBm , Regulatory , but we have AP's on Unii1 channel covering the whole aisle whilst AP's on unii2 & extended are barely covering a 1/4 of an aisle on power level 5
