Do not connect a device to a specific company access point

I have a strange question, I have installed 5 Meraki WIFI MR36 antennas in the company, I wanted to know if it was possible

block the connection of a specific device to a specific access point, example my smartphone can connect to all the other 4 antennas but not to antenna number 5.

It's possible to do it?

Thank you

Not that i know of.

You could broadcast a specific ssid on 4 AP's instead of all 5. But that is for every device connecting to that ssid

Better describe what you intend to achieve. For me, this doesn't make any sense.

However, it could be controlled by a RADIUS server that refuses the connection when attempted on this specific AP.

Thanks for the reply

It is a device (a tablet) that receives a good signal from a nearby antenna, but every now and then it moves and picks up the signal from another antenna that is not nearby. The result is that returning to the office remains locked on the weak signal.

I wanted to not allow that device to connect to the farthest antenna, but I'm afraid that's not possible.

Thank you in advance.

This is a client decision and can never be totally avoided. I would typically accept it if it happens now and then, especially if it is only temporary and not permanent. Often enough, a client will move back to the better AP after some time.

Try using these power levels.

You do have the ability as well to configure the RF profile in which you can lower the MAX radio transmit power range or configure minimum bitrate both of which would affect the range of signal and may stop the device from connection attempts to a farther away AP but as Karstenl stated this is a client decision as to where it connects.

More on RF profiles can be found within this Meraki Documentation.
