Clients not able to see SSID

Hi All,

We have multiple new devices (across multiple sites) that are unable to see the relevant SSID for the network. Rebooting the AP, will show the SSID for a short time, then it will disappear again.

The main devices experiencing issues are...
Samsung J4+ Mobile phone
Samsung A20e Mobile phone
Samsung A12 Mobile phone
Info on phones can be found here
Samsung tablet (Unsure of model but is less than two years old)

Mobile phones currently connecting to Mobile SSID which is configured as follows....

Mobile SSIDMobile SSID

Tablet connects via xxxxx -Workshop
Config'd as follows...

Workshop SSID.png

Could anyone point me in the direction of where the problem might be?

Thanks in Advance.

Hey,

I see a pattern that all these devices are 2.4 GHz only and you have bandsteering on.

It could be an issue if the AP erroneously thinks the client has sent a probe on 5 GHz so it suppresses it's probe responses on 2.4 GHz.

Try disabling bandsteering by just setting it to dual band.

Thanks.
That is what I thought, but just wanted confirmation.

Depending on your rf profile setting you may have to edit it there.

Hey @GIdenJoe

Thank you for your answer. It was my case today. Most of mobile phones were disconnected and not displaying the Wifi connection. After allowing the 2.4GHz, it was solved automatically.

Thanks,

It always annoys me that manufacturers are STILL making 2.4Ghz only devices.  A dual-band chip set is surely not that much more expensive.

Completely agree.

I know they're cheap devices, but paying the extra for 5Ghz would be worth it.
