Can you use a Hotel AP as a wireless to LAN device?

The MR XXH have LAN ports.
Can I use this in repeater mode and connect a LAN device such as a PC/Phone?

I have a desk I can not get network to.  I have great coverage in this area.
I figured I'd mount the AP under the desk and connect the PC/Phone to this.

Can this be done?

I'd think so, you could always do this on the older MR52 APs where the second LAN port could be a wired device on the network (even in repeater mode).

In some cases you could also use a ethernet over power( powerline) adapter.

@ww I've had to use a couple of pairs of those.  They do (kind of) work, but I'd rather eat a whole jar of marmite at once than install them anywhere that matters...

Yes - this will work, provided the coverage is adequate.   I ended up getting a cable pulled in, in the end.

If you have great coverage what is the issue? Why not simply use the WiiFi?

The desk has a phone PC and printer.
The desk is in the middle of the room.  The pipe for the network is blocked halfway back to the network room.
Electrical is already run but my cabling vendor tried everything.  The only option is to run from the ceiling down to the desk and this is a showroom.  High ceilings.
This seems like a reliable option I can see in my network.
I have used a tplink device for a printer before but it was a pain when making changes.
Also many devices will not pass more than 1 vlan.  pc phone and printing are on different vlans.

Currently there is a cable ductapped to the floor

Placing an H Series AP as a repeater is ill advised but if you wish to do so I see no reason it wouldn't work albeit it will be slow, comparably speaking, to a wired AP. Firstly, there is no external power supply available for H series  APs, hhis is your first clue that you shouldn't use it as a repeater. The only way to use it would be with an H2 mounting bracket and an 802.3at power injector @30w  (15W for the AP and 15 Watts for LAN port1 for your IP phone). Also, the ports the APs are not "switch" ports they are LAN ports and are usually treated as "wired only" SSIDs you would need one SSID dedicated to each LAN port on a separate VLAN. You will need to create the appropriate  AP Port Profile for a 36H, you have three ports to configure. Each port will eat up an SSID slot because you stated each device you wish to connect is on a separate, presumably WIRED only, VLAN.  If you wish to be able to talk to that printer from the wireless you might be able to share the wireless SSID in your port profile depending on  L2 isolation  and firewall rules.

In the profile below vlan 16 eats up a SSID slot and is "Wired Only" SSID ports 2 and three behave as if the wired client is connected via the SSID shown

If you need help let me know, I know a thing our two about hotel APs...

Certainly worth a try, given the circumstances you describe;   there are just more and constant variabilities using anything WiFi.
