Can't Discover New Wireless Printer

I just got a new Brother MFC-J497DW wireless printer and I am having a really hard time discovering it from my Macbook Pro. I was able to download the firmware from the Brother website and connect to it's localized WiFi to get it updated and onto my wireless network. The printer gets an IP and I see it on my MR33 dashboard but I cannot for the life of me find it to add as a printer. I can ping it from the dashboard but not my Mac. I've got a very basic setup and Brother tech support wasn't much help. Everything seems to be connected but won't communicate. Any help would be appreciated.

@Nathan3 make sure your wireless is in bridge mode and not Meraki DHCP as the latter mode doesn't allow devices to see each other
