Meraki MR52HW license

Hi,

 

we are using 3 meraki's access point MR52HW, on offcial website this product already end of sales and our license will expired sood and need for extend the lincese. The question is if i extend this license until next 3 years again but somehow our device have a problem (broken, malfunction), and need replacement, we should buy new meraki with new model and use previous broken license? or waiting for replacement with the same model?

What scope for license on meraki? it's only dashboard/device management via cloud and with replacement device too? or dashboard/device manage cloud only and we should buy anoother license for warranty hardware?

To clarify, AP licenses are not model specific. LIC-ENT is the AP license SKU and works for any Meraki AP. So, just make sure you have enough licenses to cover the APs you have in use.

The MR52 is end of sales, however you should still be able to buy licenses. Meraki will continue to support MR52 until July 2026.

The license entitles you to dashboard management, device operability, support and replacement upon failure.

Hi,

 

Thank you for link and suggestion, all our device still workign normal until now and need for extenc license maybe until 2027 (plan to buy 5Y license), the question if the device broken and need replacement let say on January 2027 our old device will be replace with the new one (MR46) without additional charge? or should buy the new model and key license still can use on this new device.

If you need a replacement beyond the end of support date, I assume either it will be replaced with a MR52 if stock is still available, or potentially support may advise that they simply can't replace it.

I highly doubt they will do a free hardware upgrade.

 

If they did decide to replace it with a new model, the same license will apply anyhow.

If you have an AP that has gone EOS (end of support) and the unit dies - you DO NOT get a replacement device.  The support has ended.
