VTP Domain in Meraki Switch -- Uplink

Hi Everyone,

I have some concerns regarding an upcoming migration. I need to migrate Catalyst 9300 switches to the C9300X-24Y-M model. Currently, the Catalyst 9300 switches are serving as the backbone of the network and are configured as VTP  servers. However, in Meraki, I don’t see any VTP configuration options. How to handle this situation without affecting the rest of the network.

Also, generally, do you use dedicated interfaces specifically for uplink purposes and separate interfaces for connectivity with the data center (DC) firewall? Or do you use the same link for internet connectivity of the switch (to allow it to communicate with the Meraki dashboard) while configuring another interface as a trunk for the users behind the backbone?

Kind of a big deal

Meraki switches do not support VTP, and if I were you, I would avoid using it, as it could cause headaches in the future.

Regarding your question, a specific VLAN is usually defined to communicate with the internet and configured as a native VLAN on the switch and I also define this same VLAN as native in the trunk port configuration.
