DHCP Option for Avaya Phones

Hello All 

 

I am looking to add DHCP option 176 and 242 for Avaya phone on C9300. do i need to add these  in "Custom" option and "Type" will be Text? it is string like 

 

MCIPADD=11.11.26.4,MCPORT=1719,tftpSRVR=11.11.26.4

Thank you @PhilipDAth one more question 

 

as my desktop VLAN is 24 and Voice (Phone) VLAN is 25

 

do i need to add these Custom value on both on just only under VLAN 25 DHCP options.

It needs to go in the VLAN that the phones will be in.

I had a similar issue with some HP switches and and Avaya phone system some years ago and did actually have to put the option in both DHCP scopes as the phone initially chose the wrong VLAN and then corrected itself.

 

I'd start with @PhilipDAth's recommendation of only adding the options to the DHCP server for the voice VLAN, but be prepared to add them to the data one if it fails.
