The switch stopped communicating with the dashboard yesterday.

Hi,

we have 3 switches in the stack that stopped communicating with the dashboard yesterday,
network is normal and there is no service disruption.
I can't find the reason, does anyone know the problem?
We have several other stacks on the same network that work without a problem.

Which Catalyst management mode are they in? We've had this issue a few times and it has self-resolved after a day or two. Support were not able to provide a root cause to the issue.

Hi I didn't understand the question
"What Catalyst management mode are they in?"

Are they cloud monitored (you can still access cli directly and make changes locally) or cloud managed (you do all configuration work in the dashboard)?

We  use the  cloud management, the switches were purchased  directly with the MERAKI version, we never connected to their CLI.

So in that case your options are pretty much call support or reboot. Support may make you reboot regardless, but may be able to have you pull local support info that can determine the cause to at least file a bug or tell you the bug is resolved in a later version if you are on older code.

This is different to my scenario then where we are in monitor mode and have TLS tunnels configured on the switch to talk to dashboard.

Would try support!

I suggest you open a support case so they can investigate.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Can you check the upstream firewall to see if it is blocking any traffic from their management IP addresses?

Try plugging into the management port, and check the local status page.  Does it say what is wrong?  If you can't spot anything that helps, while you are there, download a support bundle.  Attach that bundle to any case that you open with Meraki for help.

You could try arranging a time to perform a power cycle on the switch(es).  You might get lucky.

Once you get them back online, it was pretty common with older IOS-XE versions - try upgrading the firmware to the current stable release.
