Port status change - port: 54, old: 20Gfdx, new: down

Hello team

Hardware : 6 MS 210 48 ports with a physical stack (with Meraki cables).

Firmware : 17.2.2

Symptoms :  This sequence (one per minute)

port: 53, old: down, new: 20Gfdx

port: 54, old: down, new: 20Gfdx

port: 54, old: 20Gfdx, new: down

port: 53, old: 20Gfdx, new: down

My logs are flooded.

I changed the stack cable and test on other switchs without any problems.

What do you advise ?

Many thanks.

Have you tried a factory reset on the problem switch?  Upgrading to 18.1? I don't see any specific bugs fixed, but it could be worth a shot. It also just may need an RMA. Have you contacted support yet?

Is it only one switch reporting this?

Are you running a current stable or better firmware?

Personally, I prefer stacks of 4 switches.

If the stack doesn't have a lot of config, could it be broken into two stacks?

That looks to either a faulty cable or a faulty switch where both ports keep going up and down.
If you can, test with different MA-CLB-40G-.M cables after of course rebooting the switches.

If it still is happening you may want to open a case and push for an RMA.  Since your stack is 6 switches you should be able to see which switch is throwing the errors and have that one replaced.

Sounds like a physical issue. Since you already changed the cable and tested on other switches, it could be a bad QSFP port or a loose connection. Try cleaning and reseating both ends. If it keeps happening after upgrading and rebooting, open a case for RMA.
