I have to setup a multicast configuration in our existing Meraki Network. The last time we tried to do it, all the DHCP and DNS requests going to our DHCP and DNS server (Windows Server) were not working any more.
The multicast is intended to work on specifics vlans in our network.
My setup : MX250 as main router, 2 MS425 as distribution switches and after that MS220 as connection switches per building.
Is there any where a recommended way to do it ?
If I'm not mistaken, multicast traffic will stay within its VLAN. What are you wanting to accomplish?
It's to work on a specific vlan in our network, a vlan where some security cameras are hosted.
Your best bet is to run some captures to see where the traffic is getting stopped.
With the switches make you you are using 10.x code as they have a lot of improvements.
Do you want to only using multicast within a single VLAN, or across VLANs?
In a single vLAn in a first step.
In that case you just need basic IGMP snooping enabled.

Still an issue, let me explain :
i have multiple vlans :
vlan 1 : All the telcos (Switches, routers,...)
vlan 2 : All my servers (DNS, AD, DHCP,...)
vlan 3 : All my clients
vlan 4 : my WiFi
vlan 5 : iP phones
vlan 6 : Security devices (Cameras, cards scanners,...)
When i activate the multicasting on the vlan 6 i loose connectivity in all my vlans, mean that no one is any more able to communicate with the vlan 2 and 1...
Why do i need multicasting ? To optimise the trafic that is generated in the vlan 6 and fron the vlan 6 to others.

You shouldn't have to mess with the multicasting settings. If your ports between devices are Trunk 1 with allowed 2-6 or 'All' then you should be fine.

Note my comment about using 10.x firmware. If you are not using 10.x firmware then upgrade to it first.
It should not have any impacts to other VLANs.
