Multicast Routing

Multicast Routing

Hi Meraki Community,

The issue I need help to resolve is getting phone paging to work across multiple floors that each have their own networks for their phones.

I have three floors with their own networks.

I want to be able to send a page from a phone that's on the second floor to phones on the third & fourth floor and vice versa. Right now, I can only do it on the same floor from the same floor. Example: Paging from a phone on the second floor only works on the second floor. The third and fourth floor does not get the page.

We have Yealink SIP-T54W phones.

Voice VLANs for each floor for the phones.

Multicast routing is enabled with an address of 224.0.1.75 as provided by our vendor.

Any help is appreciated!

Why don't you use a single voice VLAN instead of one per floor?

Hi @Shadius , take a look at this document.  I’ve done similar using multicast RP (rendezvous points)

Hi @DarrenOC

This was the document I used to initially set it up, but does this mean I also have to enable the IGMP snooping querier somewhere?

This post has a great explanation of how to configure multicast routing.

So here I'd say @Shadius needs to enable multicast routing on the interface of each voice VLAN.

I've done that.
