Multicast Issue with Audio System

Hello,

I am experiencing a multicast issue where an audio central unit (HUB), connected to a switch, streams to about twenty other audio units (spokes) distributed across different switches within the campus. The central system (HUB) and all the remote systems (spokes) are within the same VLAN 30, and the MX handles the Layer 3 routing for this VLAN.

Currently, the entire organization is set to default settings, with both IGMP Snooping and Flood Unknown Multicast Traffic enabled. However, with this configuration, multicast is not working. The switch with the lowest IP address becomes the active querier by default. Multicast routing is disabled on the interface L3 in my firewall..but being the traffic all within the same network i dont think i need to enable it.

I would appreciate your help in understanding how to make multicast work properly.

Looking forward to your feedback.

M.

Hi there,

thanks for your message. I had already checked the L2 file. I can say that i see Membership Query and Membership Report on my capture...so probably..the network side is OK..i guess.

I think many have trouble related to setting up an appropriate IGMP querier.
