Moving MS250 to Nexus 9000

Hey everyone,

my current setup for my MS250 stack is this:

Nexus 9000 -----------Cisco 2960--------------MS250 Stack

    MDF                        Shipping                    New Shipping

This was setup like this in haste to get New Shipping online..

Today I was able to get New Shipping setup with it's own fiber, but I havent made the switch to this yet:

Nexus 9000----------------MS250

Is there any potential issue with doing this? The MS250 already sees the Nexus 9000 as the root bridge, and if I can quickly / safely make the change I wont have to come in on the weekend.

Assuming your ports and VLANs are set up/trunked correctly it should be fine.

Get the device pre-staged in advance, software updated, device registered to the cloud and Config uploaded and you’ll be done even quicker

^ This! Definitely this!
Pre-stage wherever possible. It can cut down the time considerably.

DarrenOC, the 250s are already up and operational.. they are just connected to a 2960 and not the nexus.

I just wanted to ensure there would be no issues to move the fiber to give them a home run back to the Nexus.

If you want to port-channel down towards the MS then it is mandatory to use LACP as protocol.  Static channels are not supported.

Just an extra to keep in mind 😉
