Meraki Switch and NLB Server issue

Hai guys

we have Meraki as a Core switch and NLB server. we got and issue the switch doesnt know virtual mac address of the cluster. same issue with the cisco switch, but they can resolve the issue with just adding static arp.

how to resolve this issue on meraki? it doesn have static arp feature.

You can't.  Microsoft NLB is a terrible implementation of a load balancer.  It generally relies on other systems to make it work - because its implementation is too broken to work on its own.

You could put the NLB into its own VLAN and use unicast mode. You want a dedicated VLAN because it causes mass packet flooding.

Personally I would use HAProxy.  It is free. It is excellent.

Hai phil, thanks for you answer.

so all mode except unicast is possible ya ? So for the unicast mode on NLB, its just NLB server using different vlan or all server on the cluster must use same vlan with the NLB? thanks for your help.

The whole cluster would need to be in the same VLAN, to my understanding.

You can keep everything in the same VLAN, buy it causes a lot of network flooding, which will degrade the performance of everything in that same vlan.
